Please, don't start again and again with the same "NP TrackIR is better than Freetrack", "Freetrack is an hack", and so on... I'm using it from more than a year with every flight simulator I have (IL-2 1946, Cliffs Of Dover, Strike Fighters, etc.) and racing sims (rFactor) and I think it works very well. Probably I think I did a mistake writing about this, I hope i'll not open a "can of worms". Yes, you can use simconnect to use it, but, I think, adding some lines of code in the software, and support a large freeware community would be better. Right now, I just can't fly without it. Probably, if you think Freetrack, like some other headtracking software, is for poor men, i can say that you are wrong.I enjoyed building my own headclip, and when everything worked so nice, it give you a great satisfaction.RegardsP.S.you know that with a PS3eyecam, that I bought for less than 30$, have the same, if not better, accuracy that a TrackIr have?
Hi albx, sorry for the fuss this thread caused, I like your reply and I'm pleased you're happy with the Freetrack solution. There are a few youtube of examples and I have to say it does appear to work quite well. To answer your question I can't be sure it'll be supported directly in Flight, but I think something like simconnect will probably continue for Flight so hopefully with the developer continually improving the drivers you'll have even better support when Flight comes out.Cheers,Dave.
