Max load with P95/OCCT 12 hrs of testing I saw was about 63C on core #3 @ 4GHz. I have the Corsair 650D case and the rear fan (on the case) sucks air in towards the rad. The only fans blowing air out is the top 240mm.Under a few hours of FSX load temps hover around 55C.oops I have the H60.

I just tested my system at 4.6Ghz (My overclock for non FSX use) for over an hour on Prime 95 which ran between the 60s and low 70s celcius with a 28c ambient temperature. It idles in the mid 20s and low 30s C. When running FSX under full load at 5.0 Ghz the temps are less, topping off at the mid 60s C, but averaging in the low to mid 50s celcius. This is just on air with a Prolimatech Megahalems Rev. B. Why would water in a SB be needed, or even beneficial when a good air unit can be so cool and quiet? I'm not trying to provoke an argument, I just don't understand the reasoning when Sandy Bridge, even when heavily overclocked, runs so much cooler than previous systems.Kind regards,

Have to agree with Stephen. Thermalright Archon, single fan. Ambient about 21C.Ran prime95 blend for an hour.http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/05/25/corsair_hydro_series_h60_liquid_cpu_cooler_review/3 shows Archon compared with water.

What version of Prim are you guys running -those temps are impressive! With Prim95(ver 26.6) running 4 "workers" at 5.0GHz my temps are are way over 80c and pushing 90 -heck, this all before having to up my voltages to run the test for even 15 minutes! Realtemp shows wattage consumption of OVER 120 watts! I wanna make sure I'm comparing apples to apples here, are there special Prim settings that you'all are using? Now for comparison: I can run FSX (at no compromise settings), FSDream's JFK (100% WOAI traffic -all major carriers) while capturing with FRAPS and never see my peak temps go above 72c/1.41v (RealTemp measured 90 -95w). BTW- Stephen, I love the cooler picture.-Ken

Hi Ken. Those temps were with 8 workers. My Prime 95 version is 25.11.0.0 so I don't know if it makes a big difference or not.Kind regards,

What´s actually going on here?People run Prime 95 with "low" clock, and everything is fine and dandy, and then fire up FSX with 5.0 Ghz!Please, Spiritflyer, let´s have a look at prime 95 with 5.0 Ghz, I bet the temps will look just a little bit different.

Not sure I understand your question - I ran the version of P95 that runs 4 workers... core 3 was my highest reported using real temp.

A little OT, but if anybody is looking for a decent cheap cooler, check out this H50 for $39.99 at Best Buy!

4.8 (48x100)/ bios using my 5.0 settings less the offset down from +.005 down to -.020Howard-If you wouldn't mind, I'd really like to see what your getting @ 4.7 with virtual cores turned off. Again, I just wanna see how much better your cooler is than mine with reasonable likeness in load demands.Thanx again

More to the point:Is there anyone out there that can do Prime @ 5.0, or above, with 4 cores and temps below 85c? I don't think it can be done on air.
