Fonts at different resolutions,Are they changeable?

Featured Replies

Hello allMy eyes are not what they were and i find that if I choose the 1920 x 1080 resolution, then when I go to look at the map ( for ILS frequencies at various airports ), I can hardly read them because of the font size.If I choose a 1024 x 748 resolution then i can read the figures no problem. My question is - Can I do anything within the programme to make the fonts bigger on the maps when using the higher resolutions .?TIA

Hi,Use the magnifiy feature of Windows. It is under the Control Panel/Accessibility options.

Hi.. I'm I suppose a forties-boy as well, just ticked off another point towards the 3 score and ten.you should have gone to spec-savers like me. Hathere is always the option to print the map info out, font still a bit small but a little better clarity. plus the old magnifing glass helps.hold the mouse over the airport info on the map view and click will bring up a pop up with the option to print.bob

Depends on the application too. Things like browsers and Office applications you can increase the size by holding the control key down and using the mouse scroll wheel up and down.

Thanks for the replies fellas, but I am still having to use the 1024 res. That being the case it would be nice to have a print out - one document - of all, or most, of the major airports ILS frequencies.I know i could make a list from the airports in FSX, but is there a compilation available for download anywhere on the internet? Any books with this info? TIA

You could always get Flight Keeper: With its ACARS system added to your aeroplanes, it lets you obtain airport data in the cockpit since the ACARS will let you search any for ICAO code, then tell you everything from the ILS course and frequency, to what kind of fuels are available there, so you wouldn't need to use the map at all.First thing I do whenever I get a new FS airliner, is to stick that gauge in it (which easy easy to do, since there is a utility that does it for you in about 2 seconds). Sounds to me like you could use some moveable, zoomable maps that also have all the frequencies available at any font level you like. You can have all of that and so much more with Aivlasoft's Electronic Flight Bag. It is totally free for a 30 day trial period. Check it out.Ray

Are you talking about the built-in map in FSX? If so, you can just zoom that in and the fonts magically get larger :(
