Some questions before release

Featured Replies

Hey all,I have some questions before the NGX will be release. I hold it short and start asking below. If you don't like my questions or like it a nonsense or whatever, don't give a reply or no answer please.I ask the following questions because it is no evident or I don't have enough information about that!Maybe the following questions were asked, but I don't know :Shocked:If it is asked, sorry about that!Question 1. Will the PMDG ngx have a Ram Air Turbine the case of electrical failure? ( maybe I exaggerate but it makes for me realistic) 2. If the RTO brakes are used while take off, will there be a flame out on the wheels or tires after 5 minutes? 3. If using spoiler in flight or landing, will the spoilers be vibrating? wiches not making realistic (Like PMDG 747, it's little bit vibrating while in flight or landing wiches make not real) 4. while using reverse thrust in rain or snow weather, will there be air blowing outside so we can see real effects around the engines? 5. While at freezing altitude, can we see some snow or ice detecting on the cockpit window or wings? 6. Using brakes 3 or emergency brakes after landing in hot zone, can we see some smoke on the tires? 7. Is it possible to see the wipers in 2d-cockpit?(because I'm using often the 2d panel) 8. When will the cd version comes a life in the europe, Dutch flightsim shops? (PMDG)That's all, I request to ask here for all our knowledge about NGX, so we can learn more

1) The real world NG does not have a RAT.5) No.
oh thats pity :( but oke, I just fantasized they do, but I understand that fantasy is not strong enough to bring the RAT :Applause:Thanks and are you really sure about number 5?

Yeah. He is right. Ryan said that the anti-ice system on modern jetliners is so efficient that it's very unlikely you see ice on the airfoil. The effects of the ice on performance are likely to be modelled, but not the visuals.

1)As stated above, the real NG does not have a RAT, so why should PMDG include it on the NGX? I'm sure the PMDG 777 will have one though :( 2)You are refering to the maximum energy braking test; a certification requirement for new aircraft. MAYBE when you go into a rejected takeoff at V1 and at your MTOW you could see this in real life (again, MAYBE), but normally I don't think you'll see this on the real aircraft.3)You're saying the spoiler vibration is not realistic? You bet ya they vibrate when extended in flight or after landing!4) Is this even possible in FSX? I know of an effect file in FS9, but there the water/snow spray always showed, even on a dry runway :( 5)I think PMDG stated before the NGX will not, since they needed those polygons on other area's on the a/c.6)Don't think so... Again.. is it even possible in FSX?7) Don't know..

That was something that I did not know It sounds that PMDG team tooks it realy (so it should). so I said keep going on the real effects:)

I hardly ever hear anyone asking the most critical question. More critical than the release itself.@PMDG, does your aircraft fly?
What you mean buddy? I don't understand you, please be concrete

1. There is no RAT on the real NG. With the ETOPS package options enabled on the NGX, you get dual batteries and you're required to run the APU while in ETOPS airspace - that's what they do to satisfy the requirements in lieu of a RAT.2. A rejected takeoff does not mean you're going to get a brake fire - that isn't realistic, planes are designed to do RTOs without fires starting.3. The vibration of the spoilers in the airstream is there in real life (the flaps do this too) - I've seen it many times in real life as a passenger on Southwest's NGs. Unlikely that we'll have this though as the animations needed were used elsewhere.4. No. Again I've never seen this effect in real life either too...5. No.6. Again no, the brakes on real life NGs are designed to not smoke or start fires with normal use.7. Should be yes.8. CD version will probably not be until 6+ months after release. We like to have the CD version be the final code so that it doesn't require patches right out of the box after install.

1. I did not know, so I hope we can see it in 7772 I'm sure it works in real life I have youtube link for you so you can understand me exactly http://www.youtube.c...h?v=am392XmYBps I wonder if the NGX can do this.3. No in real life the spoilers were not vibrating when its extends (example Ifly 737 ng), but in pmdg 747 the spoilers were vibrating like fabby or limp4. I dont know??6 Yes it's possible when using FSx passengers, but I wonder without fsx passengers?

I assure you I've seen the spoilers vibrate slightly in the slipstream on real NGs - in person on board the airplane, not on videos or with some other addon.

4 Maybe I can help you to see the effects on video, look after minute 1.35 you will see air blowing the snow and gives a beauty effects watch carefully
that makes me happy8 You talking about six months, I can better download it from pmdg website when it releasedThank you for your answers Ryan

I believe you Ryan, there is no question about it. But What I mean is the spoilers were maybe to much vibrating while extended. (maybe I've installed something wrong)watch the video and rate self. At minute 2.40 you can see the spoilers very hard vibrating in compared what you mean (you said slightly)Maybe I'm wrong, but please watch at 2.40 http://www.youtube.c...h?v=m5DjQ8nEItcIs it normal?? I dont know :(

Ryan I am sure this is going to seem like a dumb question, but can the NG's APU even run at altitude? I know some are altitude limited, but that is pretty cool that they run it to satisfy ETOPS requirements. Just curious if they have some sort of special modification they do, or if it is just the type of APU it has just always is capable of doing so. Granted it is using a much more powerful APU that what I am used to working with.
