July 4, 201114 yr Edited. Me is sorry, the Avsim page already has that announcement listed so my post may be one too much. :( But maybe the night screens are useful then.Milviz just launched their new thing, the T-38A coming in a well though package at very reasonable 40 Dollars with the Flight1 selling system, so a 30 day money back policy is included.http://www.milviz.co...em.php?id=T-38AThere are plenty of screenshots on the page and from my first flight and a 'scroll view' of the manuals, this one gives you a detailed POH, one for the quick readers too, pre-set EZCA config files, FSUIPC macro definitions and some goodies like multi stage cockpit lights and the 'Lotus style' landing lights that we love so much.Flying her is a blast so far and if you are used to the AoA meter, you will also be very pleased by a flawless operation there. The well though pack continues as e. g. the tooltips help you very much on setting up the Nav freqs (without taking a look into the TACAN tables, which are included) and I'm sure the detail doesn't stop there.I haven't looked at the systems in detail, but I guess, not only from the POH, that there is much to explore and also to make use of all the numbers from the manual. You are looking at smooth 3D gauges there and very sharp textures, hearing nice sounds (including the switches of course) and watching some nice effects when e. g. the afterburners come on.For the easy flyers, some popup GPS gauges and an AP is available. I might throw those things out later, but I'm sure that quite some of you are happy about some 'situational awareness help' and also some AP for the longer stages of flight.I guess that if you liked to fly the Lotus Albatros, this one will be a nice step up.I will add some screens of the night flying later. All day ones are at their page. And of course I already have a wishlist since customers always nag about missing things. Edited. Here are the night screens. As said, the cockpit lighting is multi stage and multi level, so you can go on various settings there. And don't mind the gauge readings, I'm close to death there. :(And here are the 2D popups I spoke of, for easier flying. And one at day time.
July 5, 201114 yr Author There's a discount for the current C310 users. I've just received this email stating It is being offered to you, as a purchaser of the C310R, at a discounted rate of 30.99 (nine dollars off) till the end of August. Now that I've already bought her (without discount coupon) there's also a solution described. If you have already purchased both the T-38A and the C310R, please feel free to return the T-38A for a refund and purchase it again using the coupon! But I'm ok with the price, no discount needed, guys. :smile:I did numerous touch&gos now and she really is a fine ship.I'd say that the afterburner sound is a bit prominent in relation to the normal engine noise in the cockpit and I'd also wished for VC rain, but the thing is good as it is and of high quality over and over so far.The manuals for example are a role model for sure.

Lighting system won... :( Thanks for the kind words of encouragement! :( Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
July 5, 201114 yr Author Yeah, that nice lighting was a good choice indeed. Don't worry, I miss that VC rain in so many birds, it's much easier to remember the exceptions there. I know it isn't easy to do in FSX, but it looks so cool on e. g. the Albatros. :(
July 5, 201114 yr Moderator Well, it really isn't that difficult. After all, one only needs to write the code once for it to work with any subsequent products, but it can be rather costly in terms of performance depending on what other features are added. Fr. July 6, 201114 yr Thank you for the very fast review of our product and the kind words. I really hope each of you who purchase this jet find the experience rewarding. We really did strive hard to make it as realistic in flight as we could make it. BTW: How did you like those rumbles and grumbles as the jet approaches stall? The jet was always giving off those sounds and slight shakes when in pattern on base and final. You just had to make sure you never allowed it to get to serious shakes when the AoA meter showed the dreaded red arrow. If you get that, you cob full afterburner power and get back into the pattern. Seconds after getting that and your sink rate goes to 2,000 FPM only 500 feet off the deck with an ejection seat that is not rated for use below 2,000 feet AGL! And that is the real jet, BTW!!! LOL!!Ken
July 6, 201114 yr There is a texture missing on the GNS430..!!the left side normally look like this. When it miss a texture it look like in the first post..Apart from that the plane look good.! Mr Bill did a sterling job on the gauges..!
July 6, 201114 yr There seem to be a texture missing on the GNS430..!!normally look like thisWhat the hell r u doing with a GPS in a T-38 ??? That's cheating!!!

July 6, 201114 yr Normally, that is what it looks like.Ok sir.. Sorry to disagree with a master like you, but then I will have to reprase. "normally look like this in FSX" as that is wat 99.9% of GNS430's look like, that is currently available in FSX, including the Reality XP gauge.Glad you corrected it then to what it is like, though when looking at the Garmin site and other publications, their GNS430 does not look like thishttp://www8.garmin.com/company/newsroom/mediagallery/items.jsp?product=010-00326-01http://www.helicoptersonly.com/contents/en-us/d104.htmlI have spend a couple of 100 hours on the FSX GNS 430 coding myself and I know that it is a texture that is not displaying or if you used rectangles to draw the same as a texture then they are not displaying at all. If that is what it is like then a little bit has been omitted
July 6, 201114 yr Author BTW: How did you like those rumbles and grumbles as the jet approaches stall?Yes, fine work there. A great detail indeed, to hear what the plane is about to approach soon when maintaining e. g. that bank angle or that low thrust setting. Seems like you guys have set up quite some additional sounds to discover.Since your manual describes the approach methods in great detail too, this stuff also helps to train on the bird.

If that is what it is like then a little bit has been omittedWe did not code the Garmin stuff. That comes straight from FSX. If it looks like that, it's because it looks like that in FSX. THe T-38A doesn't use any electronic devices like the GPS or Garmins. We only added those for people who are er.. uh... too lazy to figure out how to do it "old school". " :( Dont make me laugh. FSX do not come with this broken GNS430 that I can recall... So please sir, You are way off target here with such a comment..Maybe you get it from a second hand dealer but for sure it did not come with/from FSX in that broken format..!And the 99.9% I have seen that has been added to FSX as addon by freeware and payware developers does not look like that.. The GNS 430 has been added as addon GPS's that is based on the FSX code but that is that. the GNS430 originated from way before FSX, but has never been part and parcel of FSX, and even if you did get that from FSX, then you have a corrupt version of FSX as I have never seen it with a display like that in FSX (exept for the times where I wrote a GNS430 and I made a mistake with the texture name. then I have seen it like in your plane) but please I have never seen that in a proper working GNS430SORRY.. Check your FACTS please before posting comments about the "Default FSX gns430" that is NOT true..!So hopefully you will spend a bit of time double checking your facts before commenting
July 6, 201114 yr and if you want I will buy the plane, correct the issue at hand send you the correct gauge back with the correction added in seperate document so that you can see where it was broken and now it was fixed so that it properly display the left radio side.Maybe then you will acknowledge that the 430 you installed in your plane is all but 100% displaying everything properly, as the rest of the 99.9% FSX GNS430's out there are (yours are the 0.1% that is not working like the rest because wherever you digged it out from FSX, it sure do not work or look like that in "FSX" where you got it from) :Big Grin:So with due respect.. if you dont mind please show me where in default FSX this gauge is with that textures/faceplate combination..Nah, didnt think you could..! :( :(
