Once the NGX has been finished, I'll be looking at a new aircraft to do. My understanding though is the Airbus X isn't very 'hard-core'. Does it even have SIDS/STARS?Cheers, B. July 8, 201114 yr Author Well! Not as such, but the FMGC can handle STARS etc, but you have to program them yourself, there is a full systems version being worked on though, It would be probably be better to wait for that, just a shame as its a real beauty and i dont want to fly it :(ThanksSimon Simon Roberts
July 9, 201114 yr Commercial Member Why not a Carenado add-on? Or the RealAir Duke? Two crew in a GA single?I did it once for the C172.But most people want the airline stuff.Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
July 9, 201114 yr Author Yeah i cant see the point in a small aircraft that can be flown easily by one person. Simon Roberts
July 10, 201114 yr You could always have passengers in the back aswell - who complain at random times? I think I would like that :(
July 12, 201114 yr Commercial Member You could always have passengers in the back aswell - who complain at random times? I think I would like that :(The FS2Crew 172 version had that. But, again, 99 percent of FS2Crew users want automated airliners, not the little GA Stuff. B. July 12, 201114 yr You can get the screaming passengers with FSPassengers, and a general crew member from Its Your Plane. The latter works in any plane, but is no way as detailled and specific for the given plane type as FS2crew.The real power of FS2Crew FO is that he/she understands the plane and follow the real checklists.Regarding the Airbus, There are so many realistic Boeings around, but are there any realistic Airbusses?I heard (I do not know for sure) that the Aerosoft one isnt realistic, what about the Wilco version? Helge Rasmussen
July 12, 201114 yr Commercial Member The Wilco Airbus is, for 99 percent of all users, more than sufficient in terms of realism. It's usually the 1 percent (who I might add who scream the loudest :( ) who like to point out flaws most users wouldn't notice. In my view, FS2Crew's biggest strength viz. the others is that we use real human voices, which is huge, we follow real airline SOPs, and we make an effort to make a realistic airline crew simulation.Based on my assessments, the others are appealing to a different market segment than FS2Crew.Cheers, B. July 12, 201114 yr Regarding computer generated voices versus real voices:try the voices here: IVona, they are incredible Helge Rasmussen
July 12, 201114 yr Commercial Member You're joking right? :( If I had to listen to that for more than 30 seconds, I'd be looking for the big "eject" button.I dream of the day when I can replace human recorded voice artists with computer generated ones, as coordinating voice artists is often more of a headache than coding. But I suspect that day is probably a good 10 years or more away. The technology still has a very long way to go.Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
July 13, 201114 yr Commercial Member Hi Simon,I don't know. Once the NGX has been finished, I'll be looking at a new aircraft to do. My understanding though is the Airbus X isn't very 'hard-core'. Does it even have SIDS/STARS?Cheers,But didn't you do a default 737 and 747? They're as basic as can be, and not very hardcore either. However, you can fly Sids and stars if you program them.
July 13, 201114 yr Commercial Member But didn't you do a default 737 and 747? They're as basic as can be, and not very hardcore either. However, you can fly Sids and stars if you program them. That's true I did do some default aircraft. But that was for market size reasons: everyone has the default aircraft, so the potential user base is large enough to justify doing it.Cheers, B. July 14, 201114 yr I'll be looking at a new aircraft to doThink of AirSimmer A320, Bryan.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsK2lMkbFE4&feature=player_embeddedIt still has some glitches (will hopefully be removed), but ts is an outstanding Airbus simulation!I've temporarily dropped iFly to drive that bird! And I miss your Fs2Crew a lot... If you decide to go for it, I can be your hardworking beta tester to say thank you. :wink:PS Although the current version is called 'Basic', it has nothing to do with 'light' addons.
