July 13, 201114 yr To be honest, as a moderator on a different flight sim forum, I would be looking to discipline some of these self righteous individuals that treat new members with disrespect. It's a bad advertisement for our community!Martin Wilby
July 13, 201114 yr MartinW, I agree with you there. I was shocked by the first few responses to the OP. Its a perfectly valid question. To be mocked in such a way is actually vile. One post in particular was especially bad.
July 13, 201114 yr Hope there has been a lesson learned here. But probably not, unfortunatley. people are not as tolerant anymore.
July 13, 201114 yr Commercial Member some of the replys I have seen here are exactly the kind of thing that drives the regulars away. It usually seems to be the guy's that hardly post and lurk around until they can pounce on someone for no good reason. I see the same thing happen around every release. Absolutely nothing wrong with the first post and it was a valid question, sure a lot of you want to pretend to be airline captains but others actually want to use this software like a LVL-D simulator and train for failures using the QRH.Some of you around here need to relax, get outside and stop hitting the refresh button. July 13, 201114 yr very well put Rob (FLEX1978)....although I tend to not use failures, they are part and parcel of any type rating course. So being able to practice them is of high importance for some. Seems that a lot of folk on here dont or cant realise that. A type rating course will focus heavily on dealing with the aircraft when something fails...an engine during finals, or at V1, hydraulics failures and so on. Whether FSX allows for some failures, like tyre blowouts is another matter

July 13, 201114 yr Seriously, coffee makers DO cause fires... nothing funny about a catastrophic coffee maker failure you see :( ;)
July 13, 201114 yr Listen, this particular forum (nothing against PMDG, not their fault) seems to have the most numerous younger and often time immature posters. It's kind of the "bad seed" let hax0r owned forum (again no offense to PMDG). It's not quite as bad as a "normal" game forum, like World of Warcraft which I don't play, but have seen the forums, but it's almost that bad. Not sure when it got this way, I've been a PMDG customer since the start long long ago, I think we can attribute it to the fact that they put out such quality products that their forums have become a hotspot.Having said that, AVSIM is a great place for all levels and age ranges of folks who love everything flight sim. Don't let this experience put a bad taste in your mouth, the rest of AVSIM's forums are much more polite. Finally, I think you ask a completely valid question, I just had a tire blowout in real life the other day, had to leave the plane on the runway, because the tire completely separated from the rim. It certainly happens quite a bit in real life, though I think with two tires on each strut, the effect would be minimal other than a flat tire sensation throughout the aircraft.Fully agree...Actually FSXman (and yes sign with your name as suggested or you will be told off as it is an strict rule in this forum :( ) you are quite right in both, your question and your "complaint":a) Your question and the little debate that has generated has make me even more aware of how incredible detailed is going to be the new NGX. As detail as for a "request" to be made one has to come across with something (really legitimate) that looks almost ludicrous for a simulation. Well done. (In fact I have another "suggestion", less serious than the yours by all means that I will put below lol and reflect my point very well...) b People should be a bit more open minded and polite regardless: they are not charged for that as they are not for being... not very polite.. so better to choose the first for the same effort I think. Regarding my suggestion... lol yes it is such a detailed product that I can't even come across with a sensible precise detail as FSXman... but I always thought... if it wasn't not a great deal, has the developer ever though to facilitate a customization tool where you stick a pic of your face and/or your mate and it will come up on the external model in the cockpit?? :( It would be a really funny smart touch in such a state of the art simulation.... lol :( honestly I struggle to think about anything more sensible to suggest although it is something completely unneccesary... lolCheers Kano Intel i9-12900KF (no overclocked), MSI RTX 3090 Gamin Trio, 64GB XPG Lancer DDR5-5200, Asus ROG STRIX Z690-F Gaming, Seasonic Prime TX 1000w Titanium, Alphacool Eisbaer 280, Fractal Define 7 XL, LG 43UN700 4K
