Push Back Truck

Featured Replies

Hi all, I've meaning to Post this for a while. I fly the default 737-800 (self build cockpit). When I finish setting up my flight plan, weather etc etc, click on fly now, off I go to start my flight at the Gate I preset in my flight plan at my departure airport. Sometimes, I have a push back truck, and sometimes I don't.When I don't have the truck, is there anyway of calling one up? I have hunted through the key combinations, and all I've ever been able to find is the fuel truck call up.Thanks in advance.

The push tug depends on two things. First, in order to see as many as possible you need to turn your airport vehicles slider up to the max. If you keep that slider at medium or low you wont see all the push tugs. However, keep in mind, the higher you set that slider the more FPS it will steal. Second, not all airports in FSX will have push tugs, but you can alter the default airport files using a freeware tool called ADEX from Scruffyduct software and add more tugs and/or other objects to the airport as you want.If the airport has no push back tug, you can still get an invisible push back by pressing Shift P to go straigh back or Shift P plus 1 or 2 to get a push back with a turn.At some point you might be interested in this product called Ground Services X or GSX by FSDreamteam. Its like AES, expect that it will work for all your airports, either default or payware, and includes the service vehicles, tugs, and all that other stuff. Here's a link for more info on it as well as a video inside that link. http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=4137.0

Thanks for response cmpbellsjc. Will look into all you mention.

Selkan: There is a Pushback utility here at avsim you can download by Rob Baredregt RCBh50A.zip which gives you the ability to pushback turns and taxi any plane. It need to be installed into each aircraft you want . It very useful.( Read the intructions carefully) It works with the tug as well for visual convenience....But it has an annoying brake sound when activated ie when the pushback window is open for the first time and doesn't stop,That'd th eonly minus I find it has. Rob includes in his install intructions how to edit out the brake sounds.Berlopez

I have the tugs at my gates, but often times they are out of position and I have to sit and wait a long time while they scoot around trying to get lined up..

dighost is this happening to all your a/c ? or just with a single one. This often happens when the contact points in the aicraft.cfg file are not properly written. The gauge if you decide to install it can be open via the top menu (Views) and intrument panel. Remember to edit it if you run into the brake noise problem.

Thanks again Berlopez.

The gauge is available here in the library:RCBgh-50.zip: Groundhandling gauges for FSX aircraft; Again should you decide to use it read all the documentation.

This product looks to be an amazing addition. From what I could tell, it's still not out yet, correct? Here's hoping that the framerate hit is minimal...

Yes it is out...I used it in Fs9 and Rob updated it for FSX,Installtion is preatty much the same. I searched last night for it here at avsim/library and found the two files: RCBHG 50 and RCBHG50 A.I found it by typing Robs' name...About three pages down. One of the files add an icon I tried it sometime ago but it's tiny,so I decided to just leave it and open the gauge via the top menu.AS i mnetion above one of the files makes it possible to edit the sound.ini to get rid of the annoying brakes sound. READ THE README CAREFULLY IT HAS SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO HOW TO USE THE GAUGE!!!It has no effect in the FPS
