August 1, 201114 yr I read that "Flight" will be more like a game... If Microsoft don't continue to improve their FS towards realism, i'm wondering about whether PMDG could make some aircrafts for other sims like X-Plane or another... Teo Halfen Teo Halfen
August 1, 201114 yr Dont believe everything you read. We dont know everything about flight. I do think however, there is not enough market for PMDG to do X-plane Brent Lewis
August 1, 201114 yr Where officially does it even make any hints that Flight will be more like a game? Just cause they dropped the "Simulation" part of the name? (IIRC MS has stated a couple times Flight real retain sim functions) Frankly as long as Flight has a good foundation (software engine) it doesn't matter if Flight was very game like by default, 3rd party developers can do as they wish. August 1, 201114 yr *Refer to last twenty post about this in the past week* I'm more curious to see sales figures for the first week of the NGX's premier. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
August 1, 201114 yr What we need form Microsoft is new host that will utilize capabilities of our computers. Realism will be provided by PMDG and other addon developers. X-Plane 9.xx is (in my opinion) a little behind FSX, but I it has it's fans for a reason. The other problem is that it's under constant development.
August 1, 201114 yr MS Flight is a pure arcade platform where you can buy 3rd party addons via the Live circuit. It is based on DX 9 and DX 10 even if when it will be released ( not before summer 2012 ) DX 12 will be the standard on Windows 8. The graphic of Flight is worst than a decent FSX scenery and yes, it is an arcade game without ATC, Flight Planner and Weather Management because MS will let 3rd party add on sell their products, once MS certified, over the Live circuit. I was almost forgetting, you will be able to play it using Kinetic controller therefore widely opening you arms to fly colored spots in your favourite pc room. Multiplayer will be in, you can fly cartoon-style colored propeller planes over the shining water and the old terrain mesh, quite funny if compared to modern games graphic high quality level. Now below this post you will read several opinions stating that nothing is sure bla bla.....just go on the MS Flight website and get yourself a rough idea and compare the poor graphic with a whatever decent FSX scenery addon. If someone will try to state the opposite just post MS Flight ATC images or videos, same speech for Flight Planner and Weather Management. Other than posting them, those are only dreams driven buy the lack of real flight simulations during last 6 years. Now the good news, PMDG is relasing a gorgeous and classy brand new 737 NG, this is really a masterpiece and everyone agrees even if no one owns it yet <->
August 1, 201114 yr X plane in my opinion is rubbish. Sure the flight dynamics are probably more realistic, but still nowhere near to real life, just like FSX. I wouldnt change over to xplane even if someone paid me to. Cameron Lett

I wouldnt change over to xplane even if someone paid me to. We will have to check X Plane 10. In this developing stage it seems to have some features that seem to be promising.

August 1, 201114 yr Unless you actually work at Microsoft, I think this is a whole lot of hot air. If I worked for M$ I would have said : " Enjoy the Feeling " ......... but I am a pragmatic man who doesn't believe to marketing and dreams since too much time to get fished by those slogans and those pathetic screenshots and videos unburied from a late' 90 era shelf.
August 1, 201114 yr I don't think Flight would come across as a "game" if PMDG released an aircraft for it.... :) Matt Webb
August 1, 201114 yr What we should not forget, is that removing the Word "Simulator" clearly shows what kind of People they want to reach with this product.... However Add-ons could make it more Professional, ..Jan Reineke

To be a pragmatic man doesn't mean that you have the capability to afirm the way MS Flight is being made, at least in technical details, as saying that will be based in DX9 and DX10. ;) Gerardo Cabezón
