August 1, 201114 yr Hello,I have from time to time a (I think) texture problem, some square water (?) textures are visible . I also have this in different countries : USA , ASIA, Africa, ...Thanks in advance Emile EBBR Z590 Aorus Elite, i9-11900K 3.5Ghz Nvidia RTX 5070, 32 GB Mem, SSD 3 Tera , 3 monitors Win11 Pro X64 LM P3D V6.1 Little Nav Map Hifisim Nvidia 591.44
August 1, 201114 yr Does it behave like water, with that animation? Looks like some sort of snow to me from the screens. Are you using any addons like UTX which alter the terrain.cfg file?
August 1, 201114 yr Author Hello,it behaves like water I can see the sun reflection .I do not use UTX.I use other addons .I will check the terrain.cfg file I have a copy of the initial installation of FSX.Thanks Emile EBBR Z590 Aorus Elite, i9-11900K 3.5Ghz Nvidia RTX 5070, 32 GB Mem, SSD 3 Tera , 3 monitors Win11 Pro X64 LM P3D V6.1 Little Nav Map Hifisim Nvidia 591.44
August 1, 201114 yr Moderator Hello Emile! That looks like the FSX haze layer kicking in. It's not water. Have you changed cloud sets recently? Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
August 1, 201114 yr Author Hello Vic, Yes, i installed the clouds made by Aimé Lelercq http://sites.google....uds-screenshots But I already had this "problem" on my old FSX XP system, so the "problem" came with the migration from XP to Win7 X64.I will install FSX from the CD on my Base Win7 (I run a dual boot) and compare the terrain.cfg files. Some other suggestions? Thanks in advance Emile EBBR Z590 Aorus Elite, i9-11900K 3.5Ghz Nvidia RTX 5070, 32 GB Mem, SSD 3 Tera , 3 monitors Win11 Pro X64 LM P3D V6.1 Little Nav Map Hifisim Nvidia 591.44
August 1, 201114 yr Moderator IIRC you use ASE for weather - they have a specific cirrus cloud set that fixes the haze layer issue. Check the HiFi support forum - I believe Jim has a link to the file - it's called cirrus_overcast03. I believe it's present in your ASE folder under images - you need to copy that over to FSX after you install any cloud sets. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
August 2, 201114 yr Author Hello,I found the " cirrus_overcast03" in the ASE folder under images. I have installed it in the texture folder but this is not the solution ..see screenshots. Under the aircraft , looks like partial squares More suggestions? Thanks in advance Emile EBBR Z590 Aorus Elite, i9-11900K 3.5Ghz Nvidia RTX 5070, 32 GB Mem, SSD 3 Tera , 3 monitors Win11 Pro X64 LM P3D V6.1 Little Nav Map Hifisim Nvidia 591.44
August 2, 201114 yr Moderator Confirm you ARE using ASE for weather. If so, have you checked the appropriate boxes in ASE. IIRC, they are fog table generation and disable haze layer - not at my flight system. Also you might carry this post to the HiFiSim support area where Jim Skorna might have a comment. August 3, 201114 yr Author Hello Vic, These are my ASE Visibility Options.I will also set a link from the Hifi Forum. Thanks in advance Emile EBBR Z590 Aorus Elite, i9-11900K 3.5Ghz Nvidia RTX 5070, 32 GB Mem, SSD 3 Tera , 3 monitors Win11 Pro X64 LM P3D V6.1 Little Nav Map Hifisim Nvidia 591.44
August 3, 201114 yr Hi All, It is not the FSX Haze/ASE fix here. It is a ground texture involved. What ground textures are you using, if any, because you say you see this in many places? If you just did a copy of your old install then you just brought over the problem from the old computer. I would first try a Repair install of FSX and if that didn't work, a fresh install of FSX.
August 4, 201114 yr Author Hello Jim,"What ground texture"? I "fly" FSX since ..... I cannot remember what ground textures I have installed since.Yes I have this in several continents. On my new system I installed a fresh install of FSX and afterwards I did copy my backup files on it. And I already had the problem on my "old" FSX.I will install a fresh fsx on an other system (I run dual boot) and after I will try to compare the texture folders. If you have some suggestion? They are welcome.Regards Emile EBBR Z590 Aorus Elite, i9-11900K 3.5Ghz Nvidia RTX 5070, 32 GB Mem, SSD 3 Tera , 3 monitors Win11 Pro X64 LM P3D V6.1 Little Nav Map Hifisim Nvidia 591.44
