Anyone bought the AoA training yet?

Featured Replies

I'm not sure what to do, buy the course or not. It sounds great and all, and I'm sure they put a lot of effort into their courses, but I'm just wondering how deep they will go in the explanation. Will they remain on the surface, a bit below or really go all the way and explain everything there is to learn about the 737. How good will it be for people who basically know how to power the aircraft, vaguely know what most of the buttons do, program a flight plan, etc. Is it really going to be the knowledge you'd learn in a type 737 rating course? What do you guys think.
Listen to this disussion of the AoA team and you question will be answered: http://www.flyaoamed...37ngx-training/ But to make it short: they will cover things like the electric and hydraulics schematics in depth, so I think they will go all the way.

So here is the next question, how long do you think it will take to release all of the lessons, the full Captains package. They have lets say 100 hours + of stuff and given the depth of the subject matter we certainly cannot inhale the full course in one massive release. I am kind of hoping they spread it out over six months so we can all absorb it at a reasonable pace. Mark.
I hope the full Captains package won't ever be completed because of the Linework, which is a monthly subscription and you will get new content every month (but only the first 3 months are included for free, otherwise 15$ a month after that)I think Ground- and Flightwork will take at least 3-6month each ... so first 3-6month you get Groundwork and somewhere in between you get the Linework started ...After the Groundwork is completed they will start Flightwork and not before. I think the other products were released around 1 year after the addon was released, this time they started with the addon, but I think this will also at least take 1 year to complete maybe even longer

Good info, thanks. The month sub thing is not going to happen for me, becomes like a gym membership, you pay and pay but probably don't use the service over time. Mark.

If you listen to those audio files they go into great depth about what each of the packages will offer. They have been working on this for the past 8 months, without the aircraft. They are actually providing training on the real aircraft systems, and because the NGX works like the real thing it will be relevant for that, but in theory you could take this training and apply it to a real 737 NG! As an example they were saying they have one topic (can't remember exactly which one) that is currently has 3 hours worth of content, they may have to break that down into a couple of videos. If you're on the fence about buying this, go and check out the audio file and it should make your mind up. They also state several times that all the videos will be in HD and downloadable, and that there will be a lower res version for smartphones and the like. Also the 3 months of Linework doesn't start until they release that section, sometime between Ground work and flight work. I have the MD-11 Training and that is pretty comprehensive, but they are raising the bar in terms of completeness for the NGX training. Not only will you know what buttons to press to get the aircraft to do something but if you take ground work you will know why you press that, and what the relevant system is doing when you press it! Cool stuff indeed!

Well I made up my mind. I will buy the training only if I can activate linework after groundwork and flightwork are completed.Don't really feel like jumping into linework without having the proper knowledge of the basics.

If you buy the captains package and lineworks released its first episode the 3 months will start ...you can't do anything about it ... the only thing that came to my mind ... just buy the captains package after gw and fw completed

I have purchased the captains package. As for linework, just download the video and watch it when you feel you are ready, no big deal. Mark.
