the same thing happened to me and its not PMDG its your computer. all you have to do is go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\directx\ and delete everything in that file. then try again.that worked for me. i have a win 7 64.

Mark, my recommendation download directx from Microsoft and install it yourself. When I came to that stage of install it said that it detected an equal or newer version of directx already installed

Hey Brother, Sorry.Im trying this download of the Microsoft DirectX thing and its telling me its not safe to download. Thats when it gets scary because we dont want to kill FSX, we want to fly it. Any suggestions. Marc

Thanks mate - first problem is to get the money together! lol! My last rig blew up about a year ago and that was an old P4 3.2 machine from '04, actually the guys over here have been great- really helpfull - think there's just a bit of understandable extra tension around today! I had to re-learn everything since I was so out of date with where computers are today, but I am getting there slowly but surely! :-)

i would do the same thing if it weren't for those darn stairs LOL but then again the panel is too pretty to just walk away from it during cruise... even for the ps3.

If "anything" in your PC says that, reconsider removing it (I mean app that says that, not DX...) What antivirus software are you using? Any crazy game booster apps, etc?
