Featured Replies

Howzit :)Whenever I activate VNAV, it disconnects and one of the 3 error lights come up. Why?

Hey Marc. That isnt enough information to deduce anything bud! This is a very complex sim. Tell me more. LOTS more. Its probably doing something it SHOULD be doingJackColwill

Hehe, my bad gents. The 3 lights I am talking about are above the 2 Main Displays on each side of the cockpit. FMC P/Set and the other 2 :) New problem : Controls have totally shut down. Nothing is responding to me and YES IT IS PLUGGED IN, it seems to just be turning my HYDRALIC PUMPS Off

Marc- it would appear something is interfering with your A/P and A/T. Are you trying to engage the A/P or simply hand-flying LNAV/VNAV following the FD? Please make sure your'e able to arm LNAV/VNAV on stand. That will usually eliminate all FMC programing issues. Also, please read the Introduction and FCOM (as able). I'd especially refer you to flight control axis setup. Let us know how you get on.......

Best-

No, I turn off EVERYTHING. AP, A/T, F/D, all that, but it is as the plane FROZE, literally FROZE in the cockpit, NOTHING and I mean NOTHING was working, not even my speed indicator or map or anything.

It seems like this is an issue. I am having it and others are reporting similar freezes.

Hope it is an easy fix. Also, after take off when I engage AP and LNAV and Vertical Speed, I set it to 3000ft/min just to get up but instead of going up, it goes down.

I had that problem as well. Did FNO on VATSIM tonight into ATL. MDW-ATL went fine. Did ATL-JAX next and on the taxi out at ATL, I went to switch runways in the FMC and everything froze. I tried to continue taxiing by moving my throttles, but nothing happened. The entire plane was frozen, except for the CDU. Hit the menu page, the FMC option is missing but the others are there. I seleceted the "load cockpit' option and got a blank screen. I re-loaded the aircraft, and everything was fine. Departed ATL, level at FL240 I got a FSX CTD. Sorry for the incorrect terminology - I am out of the sim now. Otherwise, it is a fantastic product. Here are my specs: ASUS MBi7 950 3.08 Ghz12 gb ramGTX 470Windows 7 64 bit, up to date.

Dan,Are you able to reproduce the freeze? If so please post the steps so we can run it through the debugger here.

Why are you climbing in Vertical Speed mode? That's a no no in the NG except for very small altitude changes. You should be using LVL CHG or VNAV to climb. VS doesn't protect the airspeed and you can stall in it.

Hehe :D my bad tongue.png Quick question, in the CDU/PMDG Options? under like HONEYWELL and that, how do I make it save those settings so it uses them in every flight?

Marc M.

Ryan, I just did a test flight ATL-ATL with the ILS 26R, parked, shut the plane down (APU still running) reprogrammed the CDU almost exactly like before, started up, taxiied out and I could not duplicate it. Now that I have the proper screens in front of me, here is what happened the first time: I went to the DEP ARR page, then did not get any response when I tried to select 26R. (26L was selected initially)I hit the menu page on the CDU and the L1 Menu text disappearedI was able to move through the pages using the hard keys (ie CLB, CRZ, Prog, Init Ref, legs, etc)I tried reloading the panel via PMDG SETUP>>PANEL STATE LOAD and that's where the screen went completely blank. I could still navigate around using the hard keys, but each time I went to the Panel State Load page the page was blank. I could move the throttles via F1/2/3/4, however the gauges would not reflect an increase in throttle command, nor did the throttles physically move. It was not responsive to any of my control inputs (my throttle, joystick or pedals) Interestingly enough, after all of that I slewed my way to a ramp using my control inputs on my joystick and pedals. Let me know if you need any more information.

It automatically saves them but it's specific to that livery. If you want to use the same settings with every flight regardless of livery you need to load the config file you want into the FIXED CONFIG field on the PMDG SETUP/AIRCRAFT page. This is all covered in the intro manual.
