August 8, 201114 yr Commercial Member Gents, We read and monitor carefully everything written on our forums (and elsewhere). We constantly strive to introduce as many compatibility features as possible responding to simmer comments. Some of those features are indeed possible but some would result in degrading our plane into a default (or work like default) 737 (or any other jet type not to be particular). So stay tuned. PS. I enjoy some utilities that do flight monitoring. Some are really good and offer a lot of choices. Some Big Brother like stuff however infuriate me ( more as a user rather than developer). That includes flight quality control of the most unrealistic nature (typical the 250 limit below 10000 a feature of mythical proportions) and other garbage like lights, flaps, vertical rate etc. I search for the disable option in 3 seconds. The most hilarious thing is the in-depth explanations of why such "features" exist offered in related forums/agony columns etc that reveal almost instantly that the person offering them has never been even close to an airliner cockpit....ever...or needs psycho analysis to explain why he gets a kick out of the average simmer suffering. ==================================== E M V Precision Manuals Development Group ====================================
August 8, 201114 yr OK then, did you use it along with FS Flight Keeper? The FlightSim Labs Concorde use the normal Flaps Keys to drop the nose down, but then they are not flaps. Also, it only have Navigation and Position light. Then, FS Keeper will complain that the strobe are not on. Would you complain to FSL because they not made it so FS Flight Keeper can read it?Clearly, the NGX has flaps, which you can set using the FSX default keys. As such, it is reasonable to expect that reading the flap setting in the FSX SDK should return the correct flap setting. If you disagree with this, we really have nothing to talk about. I would say that if you are developing an aircraft for FSX, you should make every effort to make the state of the aircraft available to 3rd party programs, so your aircraft can be used by everyone. As it stands now, people who use FSFK and/or FSP cannot properly use the NGX. That is to say that they did not expect that they will have to make compromises, because it is obvious to many of us (not you) that reading the flap setting in the SDK should return the value that is shown in the cockpit.
August 8, 201114 yr You should turn on VNAV while on the ground. If the light doesn't turn on, something is wrong. It should be some setting or a bug. It happened to me before, but the last couple of times it worked fine, so I am not sure if I did something wrong or not. Henri Henri Arsenault

August 10, 201114 yr Hi, first FSFK will get an update to fully support the 737 after the SDK has been released by PMDG. This will solve all problems (not only for FSFK, but for many other tools too). Please keep in mind that such tools are made for default aircraft and need changes to handle specific addon aircraft. So please be patient. Thanks! To record the correct flap settings in FSFK, you need to adjust the flap value with the FSFK Device Installer. Please read the manual section "ACARS Device Installer - Editing Aircraft specific settings" for detailed infos. If you need more help visit the support forum or contact us via email. Regards Thomas
August 10, 201114 yr Gentlemen - how in the world do you think an airliner has the ability to hold a certain V/S without reference to flap up speeds? Would you really engage a pitch mode at 400 RA that has no V2 guidance or for maneuvering speeds? No you wouldn't. Could you engage it? I'm pretty sure you could but that does not remove the 'no you wouldn't' factor. Randy J Smith
August 11, 201114 yr Author Hello PMDG and flightsimmers, I would first say that I am very happy with PMDG 737NGX. Thank you PMDG I have some small questions that I seek answers. 1- is this a bug?: After takeoff when I turn on the autopilot and click the “vertical speed hold” button the aircraft doesn’t hold vertical speed but starts descending while VS sets up +1800. if you firstly click the “Althold” button and secondly the “vertical speed hold” button then this time the aircraft holds vertical speed. 2- If you look at the events of FSFK (Fs Flight Keeper) you see something off that doesn’t occur with the other Aircrafts. - The Becon-light constantly turns on and off while you're doing nothing.- The Anti-ice is also constantly turned on and off while you don’t touch it.- FSFK said flaps was 25 during takeoff, while the settings were up at 5 flaps. Greetings to all. August 11, 201114 yr i use TOGA to get off the runway then make sure you pull the nose up to the dashed refrence line on the HGS or follow the F/D bars in the pitch then the system automaticaly switches to what ever speed is in the MCP SPD window (a very nice feature btw) then start on the gear and flaps and use FLCH Andrew Simmons Intel i7 950+Corsair H70. 6 Gig ram Kingston Hyperx 1600Mhz ASUS GTX560 Ti (900mhz core/1800Shader/2100Memory) 1T Cavier Black HD + 1T Cavier Green for backup jobs.
