I have attempted to participate in this survey several times now. Nine questions, easy to answer... yet at the end it informs me that it will be sending me a confirmation password to the email address I provided. Nowhere was I prompted for any email address... nor have I recieved any email regarding this survey and a 'password'.

I asked the same question over a week ago in the 2011 Demographic Survey topic, just below yours. Still waiting for a reply. Do you use hotmail?

I just did the survey mself for the best of for 2011, and there is 10 questions. I use Chrome, worked fine for me? Tom had some issues earlier with MSIE9, maybe try firefox or Chrome instead?

Yes, there are issues with IE. This most recent release of IE is problem plagued as far as I have experienced.Try either Firefox or Chrome. As for the lack of response in the demographic poll, some 2,000+ folks have taken it successfully. I was not aware of the post regarding the Demographic.

I'm using IE8, hardly the "most recent". :-) I'll try fiddling with some of the settings like Compatibility View and see if that helps.

For what its worth, I have the same issue. When you get to the last page, there is no option to enter an email address. This is with 2 versions of IE and Firefox. The 2011 Readers Choice Award vote works fine.

Actually, not true anymore. But, moot point anyway. :) http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

I'm not installing another web browser to take a simple poll. IE is still the most widely used web browser.

Oddly enough, I completed the survey very shortly after it was first put up using IE8, which has been thus far the most stable browser I've used... I just successfully completed the voting for the 2011 Readers Choice Awards, using my ancient IE 8.0 :)

Sorry, but I have a hard time believing those stats. I doubt both Chrome and Firefox are bigger than IE. These stats show a different picture... http://gs.statcounter.com/ or http://royal.pingdom.com/2011/06/17/report-the-most-common-web-browsers-and-browser-versions-today/ In fact w3schools themselves write...
W3Schools is a website for people with an interest for web technologies. These people are more interested in using alternative browsers than the average user. The average user tends to the browser that comes preinstalled with their computer, and do not seek out other browser alternatives. These facts indicate that the browser figures above are not 100% realistic. Other web sites have statistics showing that Internet Explorer is a more popular browser.

Tried the survey with IE8 and Opera - no option to enter a email with either browser.
