What's the latest thinking regarding full screen v windowed mode?

Featured Replies

Ya, I see a loss also in windowed, which drives me crazy, as I use SB4 and in full screen mode, using the in game module, it lags me down bad....I have yet to find a way to run full screen mode, and run SB4 externally, and then move it to the extra blank monitor I have....it just disappears and I can not keep in on top.....

I didn't think you could run squawkbox external to FSX on the same computer. I also wouldn't think doing so would save you any computer resources. My understanding of the module was for running on a seperate computer.

Guys, remember... buying cheapest laptop, even if couple of years old will runn ALL the required software well.I have an eMachines E510, which is an old Celeron and I have on it all my apps, from SB4, AS, maps, ServInfo, EFB... everything. My 2600K is only busy with an FSX.

I currently run all my flight plan apps on an old Gateway tablet. When I'm flying, the only thing I run on my main machine is FSX and REX. Buying an inexpensive, older, laptop, is an excellent idea and will allow FSX the dedicated resources it needs.

I want to put sb4 on my laptop next to my computer, but due to my newborn, I will be using my headphones for quiet a while, and I only have one set, so either I would be able to hear out of sb4 or hear fsx right? I don't know how to make it work.

Easy, buy a small mixer. 4channel mixer with a headphone output is going to suffice. They shouldn't cost a lot. You can put both sources in and mix them to your desire! Something like this:http://www.mackie.co...vlz3/index.htmlCute, ain't it? €109 here...

I get better frames in full screen mode!

Always and only fullscreen mode.Beside this, there is no difference in frames on my system between the two modes.
