August 16, 201114 yr Hi to all people, I'd like to purchase this aircraft but I'm not sure if my pc specs can handle this new fantastic NGX.Because no refund is given back after purchase I'd like to know if some user with similar specs have tried this aircraft. My specs: OS: Windows 7, 64 bit, Motherboard: ASUS Rampage II Extreme, CPU: Intel Core i7 920 (2,67Mhz as default), RAM: 6 giga Corsair XMS DDR 3 triple channel, GPU: Gainward - GeForce Nvidia GTX 275 Golden Sample 896MB, Harddisk: 1° HD 160 giga WD Velociraptor 10.000 rpm + 2° HD 160 giga 7.200 rpm with FSX Cabinet: Cooler Master Cosmos S My system is not overclocked, I'd like to do it but don't know how to and don't want to damage my pc. So, in your opinion can I buy 737 NGX? Riccardo OS: Windows 10-64 bit, CPU: i7-7700K @4.20 GHz, GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 8GB GDDR5, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB 3000MHz, MB: MSI Z270
August 16, 201114 yr It should run, there are certainly a few here with similar specs, though you will need to find the settings sweet spot. You really want to consider overclocking that 920... they generally overclock well, but each processor responds slightly differently... Don't take my comments as advice or the Gospel Truth... you certainly won't get a refund from me if it doesn't work for any reason... Andrew Andrew Entwistle
August 16, 201114 yr You're fine. Do it! Nothing to lose here really. The NGX is a bargain, even if it requires some modding of your setup. Not overclocked? Get an aftermarket cooler (suggest a Noshua D14) and go for it. Plenty of guidance out there to get you going. Trevor
August 16, 201114 yr I have normal-high settings and it is fine for me ...15-30+fps usualy ... I think it should run similar to your system ...If you want more fps just dont play on full hd and have all sliders right ... P.L. TranAMD Ryzen 5800x; 32 GB Ram; EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3; Win10 64 Bit

Trevor The Austrian Noctua NH-D14 is a monster of a cooler that is pretty much the top one currently. I have one running, but you really need to make sure it will fit in your case before you attempt to install it (in general, you will need to remove the motherboard in order to install it correctly) Andrew Andrew Entwistle
August 16, 201114 yr Author Many many thanks guys, I'll buy it :-) Riccardo OS: Windows 10-64 bit, CPU: i7-7700K @4.20 GHz, GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 8GB GDDR5, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB 3000MHz, MB: MSI Z270
August 16, 201114 yr Good luck Riccardo. When you work up the nerve, Avsim's own hardware forum is an excellent place to visit for all of you questions regarding CPU cooling and overclocking. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

And, you're right, it's an absolute pain to install because you have to mount the backplate. That means you basically have to rebuild your PC. In the end though, it's worth it for an ultra cool air cooling solution.Trevor
August 16, 201114 yr Actually the Corsair "water cooling" options are beating out the Noctuas now. They're competitively priced, also. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

Those i7 processors are all about overclocking, that's the way they are marketed so it would be odd that you go wrong with it. and there's very much to gain when reaching the 3.8/4.0 Ghz range. Work up slowly i.e. small overclock then test and check temps before going higher and don't listen to things like 'Oh you should be able to get another 300mhz out of that'. Stay within your own comfort zone. Rick Hobbs
