If I was PMDG Staff, right now I wouldn't even be thinking about the Paint Kit at the moment. It would be very very low on the to do list. There are more important things to worry about, such as tracking down bugs, and fine tuning the product. Awww so your going to have to wait a little longer? Too Bad, It is what it is.

Look, they already have that paintkit, it's just matter of that livery manager aplication, and documentation, which btw is not mandatory in order to make nice liveries. They stated that paintkit should come along with NGX release. Ok, there were problems with distribution.... week ago, RSR said that paintkit will be available "soon".We are almost 1 month from initial release and still no paintkit, and livery designer cannot make all RL liveries (he is just a human after all, not machine).

indeed, the full paint kit/livery manager integration thing is a very nice touch, but ppl could of been creating all these liveries using the PSD's and then added them in the old fashioned way while PMDG fix up the issues and then launch the livery manager integration tool. I am awaiting the paint kit, as the division i run for a virtual airline wont be receiving its new B738s until the boss man (not me but the dude i report to!) gets his PMDG version of the livery.... grrr!

The paintkit should be released later today most likely and community painters can start doing stuff too.

Impatience is exactly why the NGX is in it's current state. I'm willing to bet PMDG wanted a little more time to fine tune the NGX before release. But everyone was being so impatient and saying Gotta have it now! Where is it! I'm tired of Waiting! So they finally caved and released it, and now they gotta fix the remaining issues, which I think takes priority over the paint kit. The paint kit is a bonus and not a right. When they are ready to release it they will. So have a little patience this time. You don't want them releasing a buggy Paint Kit do ya?

I disagree Paul, I think from where PMDG stood at the time of launch, they believed to have what they wanted to release. I mean they waited so long already, adding another couple of months would of had the community go bonkers but hey, that happens no matter what.These issues that have been found have only been because of the launch of the aircraft to the wider market. You can never expect to launch a program and expect it to be 100% on every machine out there in the world as you never tested it with that many machines. There is a paint kit already, otherwise how would we already have liveries from PMDG? Its just that due to soo many factors that happened at launch that some things have been left aside which is a bit disappointing.

Okay well considering we haven't seen any new posts in the forum from the PMDG Staff in awhile. It is most likely they are overwhelmed and working on important issues to patch up the product. Though it might be dissapointing that you don't have the paint kit yet, put yourself in their shoes. What would you be doing right now? And lets not forget that they have to spend some time with their families too. The livery issue is just a little thing, you may see the livery but the majority of the time nobody else online is seeing your fancy livery anyway. 1) Because other people don't have the same livery or 2) FSINN and Squawkbox are notorious for not displaying the proper models and liveries. If ya'll would just spend more time inside the plane flying you might enjoy it more, rather than nitpicking and worrying about what color your plane is. If you really need your fix now, and can't wait. Why not paint me an American Airlines Livery for the 747-400x? They have one for the FS9 version but nobody ever made one for the 747-400X? Yeah I know it's fictional but would still be cool to have and it will keep you busy until the NGX Paint Kit comes out.

Absolutely was not the case. We did not see (and still don't) the activation or freeze issues on our own machines or on the tech and beta team machines. We would not have released had anyone seen stuff like that. The hold up with the paintkit happened because we decided to rewrite the ptp creator app after we saw how much confusion the normal livery manager was causing after release. That's getting released tonight as part of Livery Manager 1.05 and it has an extremely simple interface - it's literally two or three clicks to turn your installed livery into a ptp. We also wrote some detailed documentation on how to use the paintkit, set up an options .ini for your livery and how to package the ptp step by step.
