Runway flickering with NGX

Featured Replies

Nice to know Rick, though I am not sure how your post contributes to the discussion... :) Have you noticed flickering or texture bleeding in EHAM? Is that what you are trying to tell us? Andrew
I was just cmmenting on the fact that i also have a Aerosoft airport which to me, does not appear to have texture problems. Sorry if i didn't mention that i do not see any texture bleeding.

Hi, Is this "render ahead" to be added in the fsx.cfg ? Cheers.

I believe it is graphics card driver settings. Frames to render ahead for Nvidia and flipqueue for ATI. Marcus Jian

I'm seeing it with my antilag render ahead set to 0. I had dismissed it as something to do with my settings, but it seems I'm not alone.

Marcus, I don't have any flipqueue in my ATI catalyst center... Will wait for a fix then .

Ryan, I first noticed mine at the gate with no strobes on. I had tried that thinking maybe it was linked to one of the lights, but I couldn't effect it by turning them on or off. A side note, I see it at DCA, but not at LAX...Not sure why. I don't see it at all airports. I'm not sure what is making the difference. I can see it consistently at DCA.

Still flickering with hotfix #4, and CLEAN FSX INSTALL (followed exact instruction PMDG made) + NGX only, default airport.

Guys, Just curious - does this stop if you turn the landing/taxi lights off?
Hi Ryan, Didn't see your question until now: It's flickering with or without taxi / landing / runway turnoff lights.

I also see the flickering on runways only with the 737ngx. I think it has to do with drivers. I have a nivida 285gtx, I know its abit out of dte these days, but what ever nivid driver I use you see the flickering, currently on driver 280, just have to live for it a while for this fantastic plane. Hopefully in the next update. thanks, Ronny by the way I am also using NI 195.5 edition.
