October 10, 201114 yr Buy Activesky Evolution if you want realistic weather. FSX, FSINN and Squawkbox Weather generation is a Joke! This should be anyones number 1 priority for the next addon purchase. Probably one of the most important addons you will ever buy for FSX. The next would be REX for the Textures. Once you get them you will never fly without them. Be prepared to be blown away and in awe of what you been missing all this time. Paul Deemer

October 10, 201114 yr I have the same problem. Since I installed ASE. Nothing wrong with ASE you just need to customize your setting using my tutorial and then it will work fine.http://forum.avsim.net/topic/350389-my-weather-config-for-pmdg-planes-part-ii/page__hl__activesky+evolution__fromsearch__1 What is FSINN? FSINN is one of the two clients used to fly online with the VATSIM Network which is one of the biggest on the web. The other client is Squawkbox and they both have weather built in although highly unrealistic. Paul Deemer
October 10, 201114 yr So what is the best one to use? FSINN or Squakbox. I am ready to download one of them as I write.
October 10, 201114 yr Commercial Member Depends on a few factors, but my recommendation is FSINN. Be SURE to use the FSINN Installation Sticky (Google that), and it's important not to leave out or modify any steps Welcome to the world of online, multiplayer flight! Oh, remember to register for a VATSIM user id (Google again...), and read all the of membership rules (this really is important). Best of luck, and welcome again! Yes i agree its a great weather tool but that doesnt prevent the fact i still have a problem with it. I configured it as it should be but still this very annoying temperature issue. Now i tested it yesterday and it only seems to happen when still on the ground and load a saved session or panel state. It doesnt happen when starting a new flight nor does it happen with default weather. In my case only with ASE. So ASE might be a brlilliant weather program that doesnt mean nothing can be wrong with it. Stephan van Straten
October 11, 201114 yr Do you work for Hifi? Sure sounds like it No I do not work for Hi-Fi and only reason I recommend it is because it works! Many others here will recommend it to. It is just a matter of setting it up correctly. Start here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/350389-my-weather-config-for-pmdg-planes-part-ii/page__hl__weather+settings__fromsearch__1 Also if your using FSINN, Squawkbox or REX make sure you have weather disabled in those programs. FSINN is usually the one at fault for the high temps. It is a known bug with FSINN and you can fix it by disabling FSINN weather. If you do no use any of those programs then disregard this and continue to the link above. Paul Deemer

I have configured it according to your settings but with no result. Look, its not a game breaker as i know how to prevent it but just a very annoying issue that effects some people with ASE as well. I believe (in my case) something goes wrong when reloading a session or panel state in combination with loading the real time weather. thnx for your settings btw Stephan van Straten
October 11, 201114 yr Do you work for Hifi? Sure sounds like it. No I do not work for Hi-Fi and only reason I recommend it is because it works! Hi Paul, I'm only laughing because I tumbled not the first time over a similar question caused by one of your enthusiastic recommendations. BTW, no offence intended (really)... Back to the topic: I love ASE as well but up to now no REX (Flight Environment X 2.0 is what I use - hey, I'm not working for both of them ). EDIT: Oops, I nearly forget to write that I fully support the physical explanations given above. Good job guys! Regards,Axel
October 12, 201114 yr The only weather program i am using is ASE. I have configured it according to your settings but with no result. Look, its not a game breaker as i know how to prevent it but just a very annoying issue that effects some people with ASE as well. I believe (in my case) something goes wrong when reloading a session or panel state in combination with loading the real time weather. I can see why I never have this problem now. I never load or save custom panel states. I always start at the gate in a cold and dark cockpit and do all the procedures from start to finish every flight. What you could maybe try to do is hit the refresh button in activesky and see if that helps any. Might also want to load ASE after FSX is started as well. If none of that works its probably the saved NGX Panel states that causing the problem and not Activesky. I fly with PMDG 737, 747, MD11 and the Level-D and have only had the high temps issue 3 or 4 times in the last 2 or 3 years, as always it was fsinn related. Paul Deemer
