Give the Queen a royal treatment

Hi ladies and gents. I, like many others in this forums, am positively impressed by the NGX to the point where I have found enjoyment in flightsimming again. In my opinion the real advantage of PMDG over the vast majority of developers is that their products, provided you have the proper hardware, are basically error free. I´m sure you have experienced a great deal of frustration with aircraft that never lived up to expectations or were just basically unfliyable. So the NGX steps in and it hasn´t been a single night were I haven´t fired up FSX. A big thank you to PMDG for their efforts. In my new second FS life I have decided however to undust another PMDG gem, namely the 747-400. I always thought this was the ultimate simulation and in many respects it stands as a formidable companion to NGX. I, however, have a little misgiving about the Queen. Having stepped into NGX´s VC has made me realize that the Queen´s VC appears somewhat rude and outdated. Textures are not as crisp, knobs and lighting are nowhere near as impressive as in the NGX. Now, don´t get me wrong, it still shines on it´s own but all those things to me look like they could be improved to NGX´s standards and it would be seven heaven since systems wise the Queen needs no further development IMHO. Now I am no developer and truly don´t grasp the efforts involved in undertaking such task but from a user´s point of view my impression is that a fresh VC in the Queen would not only do justice to this magnificent piece of software but it would also be a must have for all PMDG users and therefore a commercial success. Sorry for this long post and sorry if this has already been addressed somewhere else in the forums but this is just some wishful thinking in this make believe world that we all enjoy so much. Take care. Antonio

The will be a 747 V2 in the future ;) Can't wait for it, I have a fatal love for the 747's... I fear that I'm still going to fly the queen soon, even with the brand new LH 737 hoppers in my library :(

hi Antonio i agree with u. im a lover of 777 and 747 but not of 737 but with the amazing job made from the team into the development now i love the virtual 737 (the real one i still dont like it) too!!! and i cant even image how will be the 777 NGX and 747 V2. for now ill keep enjoy this amazing plane and really hope the time of development wont be so long for the T7. yes really hope too for a 747 NGX too!!!

I'm a die-hard fan of the 747, had flown hundreds of flights on it. For now, the NGX is always out of my hangar and 'The Queen' just sits there waiting. If PMDG would make 747 V2 than that would be great. The great advantage of the NGX over the 747 is the short runway length requirement.

Where did you read that??

Where did you read that??
RSR said a while back that he certainly is interested in revisiting the 747. But by the time they get to it, with the other 737 packaged, the Dash, and the 777 on the list, I would hazard to say the V2 of the 747 will be a 747-8i/F, which would be very cool

Scary...some day this new version of the 737 NGX will be "dated" and PMDG will be working on the next updated 737! I love progress.

Can you believe we are only a few days from the 10th anniversary of 911. Amazing how time flies when you are having fun. Ray

From a time, and money point of view the 747-800i would make more sense to me. They already have the 747-400 with flight dynamics and flightdeck. Would be easier than starting from scratch with the 777-300. I would pay another $80.00 bucks for a 747-800i. Course it is just wishful thinking cause they already made up their mind to do the 777. But who knows we may not even be flying FSX in another 5 years, with Microsoft Flight and X-plane 10 on the horizon. If future Flightsims are able to balance the work load, between the CPU, and Multiple GPUs in SLI then you will see Graphics and a Sim that is beyond anything you dreamed was possible.

I love the Queen too, and updating her to the NGX standards was actually my first thought after flying the NGX! :) I'd buy it, however, I have serious concerns about further development for the FSX platform other than what is already underway. It's time to get away from this awful legacy system. Regards,Paul Wood

When it comes to simulators like this one, I couldn't care less about the textures and all of that.I'd be ok if it looked like the allmighty 747PS1.ps13_flight.gifNote this was developed in the early 90s!
