September 1, 201114 yr Is it just me or do others have an annoying repeating engine sound problem at low-medium throttle settings ? (a "plok" every few seconds like if the .wav needs some editing) Apart from that, a lovely release ! September 1, 201114 yr Bonjour Jean-Paul, hey Tom,Yes, same here, i did not noticed this as i`m flying uniquely with a headset, maybe less annoying.Enjoy anyway.Cheers. September 2, 201114 yr I had the same problem. I found the 4 .wav files causing this and edited them using Audacity, now the sound is much better. The bad files to me where rpm1, rpm1L, rpm2L and rpm3.

September 2, 201114 yr Yes, I hear the little 'tic' at the end of the files. The question is...how do you edit them? I have Free audio editor. Gi's a clue. Basically you want to make sure that there are no "jumps" in the waveform when the sound loops around from the end and back to the beginning. One way of doing it is 1) Cut the sound clip in two halves, left and right, and swap them around so the right half comes before the left. Now the "click" is in the middle of the sound file. 2) Edit the waveform around the "click" until the waveform is smooth and the click is gone. Step (2) is a pain in the neck and can take considerable time - at least for someone like me who does not use audio editing tools on a regular basis. September 2, 201114 yr Great, thanks. I'll wait till Carenado issue some new ones. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
September 2, 201114 yr I don't have any audio editing experience, all I did was load the sound file in an editor and clipped a few milliseconds off the beginning of the file. Once done I listened to the file in a loop and if the "tic: was gone I was done, if the tic was still there I just kept repeating the clipping and listening process until it was smooth. The whole process took less than 10 minutes and was fairly painless. Remember to make a backup of the original files just in case the process goes bad.
September 2, 201114 yr I'll give it a go then. Because those clicks are starting IRRITATE! The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
September 2, 201114 yr I believe that rpm2L is the culprit and snipping a little piece off the front does the trick. Bert
September 3, 201114 yr I've poked and prodded the editing programme but can make no sense of it. I'll leave it to folk who know what they're doing The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
September 3, 201114 yr Yep, it is indeed rpm2L. I played this file in Sound Forge. I had to activate looping when playing the files back. That was the only way to hear the problem.I just kept removing a sliver at a time from the end of the file and replayed it over and over until the click was no longer there and then re- saved it. I did backup the original in case I needed it again. Best regards, Jeff
September 4, 201114 yr Clip the front or clip the end? Which is it? This old man can't hear well but I'd like to get rid of it. --- Jim ---
September 4, 201114 yr Ron, send me a PM with your email address.. Hello Folks,Bert, if you don't mind, i'll be happy to get these "repaired" files too, can i send you a PM?Thanks in advance.Cheers.
