Toe breaks not working

Featured Replies

Something has happened to my toe brakes when using NGX. They just dont work anymore. BRAKES is showing on the lower left corner all the time. It works fine on other airplanes tho. Whenever I use the toe brakes BRAKES is replaced by DIFFERENTIAL BRAKES. When I release the pressure on the toe brakes DIFFERENTIAL BRAKES IS REPLACED by BRAKES again and it will just stay there. This started happening today together with toe brakes not working. I have not done any changes to cgf files or any other settings lately. Anyone had similar issues?

Have you checked your failures?

Well, I haven't, but I am sure I have all failures off. I never turned them on since I bought NGX. I just want to get more proficient at flying the plane in its "not failured" mode. I will check it out... Edit: I just checked failures and they were off. I cleared all failures, but the problem persists.

Just to clarify, you mean the toe brakes wont stop the plane, or you can't see the pedal animation? If it's the latter, I think the animation was removed during beta.

I have had a similar problem with my saitek rudder pedals. The toe brakes work to stop the plane but then the brakes stay on and I can't move. This happens with all my planes,if anyone has an answer I would appreciate it. Thanks

I mean the toe brakes won't stop the plane. I haven't even checked if there is any pedal animation. Applying pressure on toe brakes just doesn't have any effect on the speed of the plane. It used to work properly until yesterday. When I test it on other planes the brakes work as intended, but even on those planes the BRAKES annunciation on lower left corner is present. So I guess it is not an isolated NGX problem.

Try changing the null setting in FSX, to zero or one. Also, in the axis section, under 'Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals', check the ' 'Reverse' check box. I believe those are the actions that remedied mine way back when. Let me know if this doesn't work and I'll dig through my files to see what I did to rectify this issue.

I think I just posted this a couple of weeks ago. Please read the following forum, towards the bottom for Saitek toe brakes: http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=39339&p=292983&hilit=saitek+brake#p292983 to the OP, it might be your brake settings are reversed, enabling the reverse checkbox might help, give it a shot, but have a look see at the settings too!!

Changing null settings to zero helped indeed. Problem solved here. Thanks!

Well, problem is not solved anyway. Not for the NGX. The BRAKES warning is working properly again, after I set the null settings to zero, but toe brakes don't work on NGX anymore. The strange thing is that this problem just arouse out of the blue without me making any changes to any settings.

Just posted this elsewhere. Guys, Most all the members of our group have the Satiek Yoke, Throttle Quadrant(s) and Rudder Pedals. Several of us also have the Trim Wheel (which we have working with all high end addons, though we have yet to figure out how to get it to work with any PMDG product). The settings below allow us to use the Rudder Pedals including differential brakes, without any problems. The settings come by way of one of our members, Mark Gray, to whom we're grateful. Hope you find this useful. Be well.

I use FSUIPC for the controls, got an all-saitek kit and the toe brakes work beautifully...With FSUIPC, same as FSX control setup, you need to reverse the control and add a buffer to the top, so when the brakes are at "idle", the system reads the buffer and does not apply brakes....when you press the toe brakes, it starts reading after the buffer and starts to apply the brakes. Also, in FSUIPC you have a "curve" you can set up...the more you apply toe brakes, the more power it gives it, just like the real aircraft....works a treat!

I use Logitech G940. I will check my FSUIPC when I get home.

Hi,You must pay attention when the wheel blocks are attached on the gear. Don't brake when these are attached! Otherwise you will get a problem with braking. Even no braking! So pay attention! Don't move the brake peddles when the wheel blocks are on.
