October 20, 201114 yr Hi to all, After many flights with NGX and without any major problems except FPS sometimes, today i encoured very strange problem. The aircraft banked right just before touchdown. The landing was manual controlled from about 2500 feet and everything was ok.But the aircraft banked right just before touchdown. What can go wrong and why it happened.Images attached. October 20, 201114 yr Author NO, everything worked fine. The pictures taken from replay and what can i do, in replay no info dispalyed. Gregory Verba
October 20, 201114 yr Is the lack of instrumentation due the fsx replay? I had a similar problem following wind-shear generated by ASE., my settings there may have been to severe.
October 20, 201114 yr I have rolled the MD-11 twice and went belly up while landing before. Reason it happened was because I forgot to calibrate my controllers before taking off and when they are not calibrated they are extremely sensitive when out of calibration. Just the slightest banking movements can cause the plane to flip. Best thing to do is at the top of your descent disconnect the autopilot for a couple seconds and bank left and right to be sure your still calibrated then put the auto pilot back on. The 2 times I flipped the MD-11 on her back were in the middle of Events on VATSIM at KMIA during thunderstorms and it was quite embaressing with my buddies on the ground laughing their butts off. Don't let this happen to you! LOL!!! Paul Deemer
October 20, 201114 yr Happend to me once... the hard brake few feet above the runway. There was an aircraft holding short to the runway.. i think it was a windsheer....never happend again since Sagi Yanay, VATIL NGX Driver
October 20, 201114 yr Happened to me once also, although I believe it to be that at the time, I had forgot to turn off the turbulence setting. Now not so sure.... William Sequeira
October 20, 201114 yr Author Hi Guys, I am having the next settings in ASE:Minimum wind turbulence: 0%Maximum wind turbulence: 100%Minimum wind shear:0%Maximum wind shear:50% FSINN weather is off Is here the problem with default settings in ASE? Why it didn't happen in my previous flights? Gregory Verba
October 20, 201114 yr I had similar behavior with ASE weather (wake turbulence ON) and departing or arriving traffic in front of me. Maybe related. Regards, Martin Martinov / VATSIM 1207931
October 20, 201114 yr Is here the problem with default settings in ASE? Why it didn't happen in my previous flights? Judging on the info thats available to us which is NONE! It is almost impossible to figure out what it could have been. Calibration? Gust of Wind? A Failure went Active? Could have been anything, but we can't even see the gauge info in your plane so like I said its doubtful well ever know the exact cause. Just write it off as a fluke and hope it never happens again. If it does happen again then I would be worried. As for the ASE have you tried using my Tutorial Settings? http://forum.avsim.n...__fromsearch__1 Paul Deemer
October 20, 201114 yr Moderator I had similar behavior with ASE weather (wake turbulence ON) and departing or arriving traffic in front of me. Maybe related.Same here. I keep the wake turbulence either turned off or the effect set very low.Greg, what is your wake turbulence setting in ASE?Sean Campbell Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
October 20, 201114 yr Author Hi Sean, It is default settings 50%. Just performed another flight at the same airport but offline. Everything was just fine.So i don't think is some calibration issue. Gregory Verba
October 20, 201114 yr I've experience this a number of times of landing and once on takeoff. It's wake turbulence from your AI generated by ASE. I took off right behind a 744 in Dubai and it nearly rolled my plane as the gear was coming up :) Sam Kharey

October 20, 201114 yr I'm sure it is NOT a wake turbulence because I always play with no traffic and occured several times. (more than 5)This is a link for previously posted one : http://forum.avsim.n...__fromsearch__1Joystick is VERY WELL calibrated. It does not matter which weather condition or airpot you landed. One of this bank thing happend was at default airport with no wind. (I was testing NGX for other functions at that time.) So I sent a ticket for help with the video in the link above, the reason I can only take a movie for replay is IT JUST HAPPENED SUDDENLY. Support team found that my heading in ND instantly changed for 5 degrees, but this heavy roll still doesn't make sense.Because the 'roll' happened after A/P disconnected, and EVEN happened when I was landing MANUALLY, too. Support team suggested me it seems my FSX has gone something wrong, so I reinstalled FSX with PMDG instruction for reinstalling FSX.Since reinstalled FSX, I have not encountered this rolling action yet.I also removed this from scenery because it may causes this problem. http://forum.avsim.n...or-fs9-and-fsx/ So, I recommend you who suffers by this problem again and again, just reinstall FSX first. At least it's fine for now. The reason we can't see gauges when we replay would be limitation of FSX. Because NGX is too complex or it's gauges can't feed datas for replay, whatever. Peter Chang
October 21, 201114 yr Author Hi Guys, I will try to remove wake turbulence settings to 0 in ASE. I don't think the reinstall of FSX will solve this issue. It is hapenned one time from my 25 online flights in vatsim. With wake turbulence set 0 i will continue my flights and see what is going on. Thanks guys for your help. Gregory Verba
