Blurry ground textures

Featured Replies

I've had this problem a few time recently but not had it before. I was flying find and everything was looking as it should then on approach to EDDT I get these blurry, low resolution ground textures. What is causing this and how do I fix it? fs92011-10-2214-42-46-71.jpgfs92011-10-2214-44-22-88.jpg Andy S

Hi Andy, I am not sure what actually causes the problem, but I would suggest that you refresh the scenery. Could you tell me what aircraft is shown in the pics. Barry

What add-on scenery are you using for EDDT and are you using anything additional close by? This type of problem is usually caused by DXT3 textures with mipmaps from the add-on scenery. For me, if the scenery is susceptible to this, it usually comes up when I add a mesh to the region. You may need to re-edit some of the add-on scenery textures to DXT1 or extended bmp and it may be needed to get rid of the mipmaps in some cases. Freeware software DXTBmp: http://www.btinterne...rams/dxtbmp.htmhttp://www.btinternet.com/~mnwright/ can be used for that purpose.Don't worry - the problem is fixable, but it can take some time digging through textures to find the culprit/s.

Although not realistic I find pausing the sim for a minute or two allows the textures time to load.

You are beginning to run out of system resources and the system is scrambling to find enough for graphics. What OS and hardware are you running? As Appliance noted earlier in the thread, pausing gives the system time to get things together and display detail again. KORD used to do this to me... DJ

If you have ATI graphics card, experiment changing Mip Map settings. I have two keys set so I can change on the fly if necessary. If you have set High Quality change to Quality, works for me fine. Echofox
