It's just not that impressive alain... I try to get excited about X-plane but it just looks terrible (only my opinion!!). The exception being the night lighting which looks simply amazing!

Sacrilege! How can you speaketh of the majesty that is Flight in such ordinary terms, it is truly gods gift to flight simmers! In all seriousness I don't want to go comparing the two but I have to agree there is nothing truly impressive from either party just yet.

Yes Jim I am! Just taking a moment to be a little more critical that's all. Both X-plane 10 and Flight look a lot like their respective predecessors with shadows and a few other bits and pieces at this stage, I think we will see much more impressive changes closer to release, at least for Flight. X-plane I'm not so sure about, it's so close to release and still looks so unfinished, which brings me back to my original comment to alain.

Critical is way different than unrealistic. Have you seen the new shots with roads and auto-gen and ground details and the night shot?

Were are the aircraft in XP10? I saw the 747, but its no better then the FSX default 747.

I thought Jim was just poking fun at the post just above his.

Its just really REALLY confusing. They show XP10 scenery in XP9, and XP10 aircraft in XP9, but no XP10 scenery or aircraft in XP10? So what have we really seen from XP10? I thought they were going to release this thing sometime this year, yet they still show dev screenshots in XP9? They are running out of time FAST.

Talking of Grammer, I am curious why Alain refers to Flight as a 'him' (''His Money''). Despite his palpable skepticism about this product, I can't help feeling there is a bit of underlying 'Father and Son' bonding going on. He might emerge as Flight's biggest fan yet.

Some screen shots are in DX9 mixted with DX10....parts of the final products are merged together as we speak, the big feature I like is the real time shadows (can't wait to see the other features), also, you won't need a top of the line machine to use XP10 unless you want all the eye candy turned on (get a GTX 580 3GB or 2).
