October 29, 201114 yr Hi,In the real world, how common are traffic alerts and resolution advisories and, if an RA is given, is it immediately followed or do you need to contact ATC first?Thanks,P.S.Great job PMDG on this wonderful addon! Will Wilson
October 29, 201114 yr RA need to be immediatly executed, as a crash is within either 10 or 20 seconds from now, so do'nt contact ATC untill after the TA/RA is solved. Regards, Renzo Marcus
October 29, 201114 yr And ignore any ATC instructions to climb or decend by ATC. A TCAS alert takes priority over atc. October 29, 201114 yr And they are not common. In 4yrs of 121 flying I have had 2 RAs and only one that we had to deviate for. Almost every trip we will get a TA just because someone is either climbing or descending too fast but they always level 1000ft from us per ATC instruction. Ken Nesbitt
October 29, 201114 yr There was a collision in the past because pilots did what ATC told them, ignoring TCAS. Regards Andrea Daviero

When I had classes held by an instructor who was an active approach and tower controller in one of Europeans most congested airspaces, he (as an ATCO!) told us it doesn't even make a lot of sense for the controller to know (not immediately at least), because he can't even do anything anyways and of course isn't supposed to intervene. If you get an RA, follow the RA immediately. Then there's always time to announce "TCAS CLIMB" or "TCAS DESCENT" over the radio once you're out of danger.
October 30, 201114 yr See this information about aircraft accident mid-flight collision in 2002http://en.wikipedia....d-air_collision this was also one of the episodes of air crash investigation in which i thin i seen all of them and now they repeating again. After each episode i try to recreate the flight on my pc etc I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
October 30, 201114 yr You MUST asap report a TCAS RA to ATC!! "Callsign TCAS RA" is the standard phraseology. You must also report when clear of conflict.vololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
