McPhat Studios NGX Textures & Licensing?

Featured Replies

Thanks to PMDG on the wonderfull work that you have done with the 737 NGX product, it is just truly awesome and realistic! As an avid PMDG customer and flight simmer, I as well as many others are awaiting for McPhat Studios to be able to release the new NGX textures that they have worked many hours on.The team at McPhat has shown awesome talent once again by making these impressive texures for the new PMDG NGX. I believe that this will only increase the NGX sales for PMDG making a awesome product even better."We" the PMDG and McPhat customers, are getting a little frustrated that the licesing issue for McPhat has not been given the green light from PMDG and are a little curious as to why it is taking so long.We will appreciate anything the PMDG team can do to make that process move along and give McPhat Studios the green light to be able to sell thier product. Thanks for listening,The PMDG 737 NGX Fans!Praying.gif

How can people put pressure on a developer to hurry up on something, and express frustration when it was never a given in the first place that they would guarantee any workings with McPhat. A thumbs up is not a business deal, or a timeline. People need to really understand they payed for a plane, not an sdk, not repaint licenses....a plane .

NIce job. Saw your post on the McPhat Forum, and I thought that was a great idea! Really, I do hope they come out with the liveries soon, but I don't want to put pressure on PMDG.Nice work.

Best Regards,

I am not trying to put pressure on PMDG, just voicing my thoughts....

That is such an over-reaction, William. Calm down mate. People are entitled to ask a question. We're not demanding anything or putting pressure on anyone. That's just like the "payware v. freeware" argument - you guys are straight away on the defensive. I know everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but come on man....Tom Avison.

Hello. If I may briefly voice my opinions on the matter. I know that on these forums there are many "anti-mcphatters". That's fine. Let's just get that over with so as not to start a flame war. Some people desire to enhance the already magnificent NGX with addon textures. If you don't wish to do this, then don't buy the textures. It's as simple as that. With that out of the way....I've been following the NGX topic on the McPhat forums for some time. It is my understanding that PMDG made a tentative agreement (not in writing) giving McPhat the go-ahead to create the textures. This was several months ago. Now McPhat has completed a couple dozen UHDT repaints and has 4 packages ready for release. They have for weeks attempted to contact PMDG and get a written agreement. I believe it was ~5-6 weeks ago that presumably Robert emailed Terrence saying that he could expect a reply from legal later in the week. This did not happen. Since then Terrence has continued to attempt to contact PMDG with no reply. Please don't get me wrong, I am as pro-PMDG as they come. Any of you who have been around here for a while, know that I am a loyal supporter. Please understand that no one is complaining, and we are not saying that PMDG is doing anything wrong. We are simply requesting that PMDG make some sort of contact with McPhat. The good guys over there have worked literally 1000s of hours collectively, and they are growing poorer by the day. With a quick resolution from good 'ol PMDG, this will be sorted out in a jiffy! Thanks PMDG for any help in this regard, and thanks for the truly revolutionary and magnificent NGX.Pease don't hate,Take Care!

Maybe i did come off a little rough, but when everytime I log into the forums to read, all I am seeing lately is just more and more posts about the same thing, people over and over asking the same question, and just pure wild speculation. It is a waste of time, and the way some of the topics are entitled, it seems like an actual legit post, but then turns into a word fest with no actual facts. So ya, maybe a bit over agro, but you have to agree...90% of question posts now are really redundant, and repeats.

I've had an interesting experience with Mcphat...A while back, I bought a CS 757 WA( the one with Delta)...however I wasn't totally impressed with the purchase, as I really only used Delta, the others were never used, and just sat there looking pretty...I still use the CS 757 and the Delta paint, but I was forever skeptical of buying from them again...Until maybe 3 weeks ago, I saw the screenshots of 747X WA2, with it some of the most recognized European airlines(Air France, Luthansa, and KLM) along with pacific airlines(Qantas, New Zealand)...I'm still impressed with their work on the Queen, and have flown routes from the US on every single one of them,I will buy the NGX packages, and hopefully be impressed with the work(IMO, the Yananyi Dreaming livery looks to be the best NGX livery ever)Just my two cents,

To add to Ethan's well worded post:I for one hope to see a continuation between PMDG's wonderful products and the addition of superb repaints by McPhat, as with PMDG's MD-11 & 747X repaints. As a paying customer I make no demands, but I do hope I will have a choice in repaints in the near future.
