December 26, 201114 yr Hi Ian,That would be even a better solution. Is that something I can do myself or is it for the developer? The developer is the one to fix it. I'm not sure exactly what the FSDT developer did but it was a very similar issue and he came out with a fix within a few hours. My guess is that he could do it by just extending the flatten file further out so you don't see the plateau when coming in to land, though I think the FSDT fix blended it in so I never did see if there was an outer edge or not. All I know is it fixed the problem without having to change vertex level. (Which is a good temporary fix but a pain in the neck if you have to do it all the time)The scenery was the FSDT FS9 KLAS McCarran International and the EPKK developer could probably find the thread in the FSDT support forum and see what kind of file was provided as the fix...Good luckIan
December 26, 201114 yr HiI fix raised plateaus around airports by making a "sloped" flatten, if that makes sense. If the developer is not going to fix it, I guess you can either live with it or fix it yourself. Sbuilder is what I use, other people lower the airport elevation. But looking at your picture, I think a sloped flatten would work better.http://forum.avsim.n...are-sitting-on/Here's a before and after shot of a sloped flatten at work. I never change the TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL= setting, I'm just too lazy..RJ
December 27, 201114 yr You know, one of the things I hate most is when a developer regardless of freeware or payware shows off work that takes years of waiting that never gets completed. This is one case where I am glad. Because the result was for another developer to step in and not only complete the project, but did a job that's a 100X better. I have waited so long for this airport and finally it's MINE!! I took some pictures to show off just how damn good this project is. The only bad thing is I have the same terrain issue outside the airport...Thanks so much DRZEWIECKI DESIGN for this beautiful airport!!!!FS9 is alive and well!!!

December 28, 201114 yr Author How are you able to take shots like these ? Is there a software package I don't know about ?If you have software like Active Camera or Walk&Follow, it will let you move freely around.A perfect opportunity to take virtual photos at any spot from any perspective. :(Additionally you can use FSRecorder (freeware) to get nice photos while airborne:And finally it is also a question of setting proper Tower View. The right altitude and the right location:That's it in a nutshell. At least That's how I do it.And actors featuring in this minitutorial were:PMDG 744, CS 753, LVL-D 763, AS A320, IFLY 737NGAerosoft EDDF, FSDT KLAX, FZ KPDX, DD EPKKREX, Oliver Pabst AES
December 28, 201114 yr Wow I never used any of those programs to take my shots.... I like your angle on the 747. I may just have to try that Rafal! I use my own secret technique with my shots :)
December 28, 201114 yr Hi Rafal. Thanks matey. I will check these out. Rafal, on a slighly differant tact, I am building up some nice AI traffic around Krakow ( I always do this when I buy a new package) do the Polish Airforce still fly Yak40's, Tu154's and AN12's ? These have all appeared on the Ramp and I not sure whether I should up-date them. Many thanks. Tristan Tristan Living in the beautiful Chilterns. December 28, 201114 yr They are currently flying Casa C-295 and EMB-175Ah thanks. Shame really. I thought they were using a few C130's, but I am sure you know more than me. December 28, 201114 yr Interestingly, I just picked this up, this evening. I hope the image is clear enough to see LOT 15 on its way to KEWR, Hi I have a question, what is a flight from a photo radar is and where I can find it?
December 28, 201114 yr Ah thanks. Shame really. I thought they were using a few C130's, but I am sure you know more than me.Yes, also C-130, forgot those :( Kind Regards, Peter
December 28, 201114 yr Author do the Polish Airforce still fly Yak40's, Tu154's and AN12's?Tristan, I must admit I have zero knowledge and interest in military aviation, so I would have to search to answer your question. But I can see someone has already replied plus you yourself seem to be well informed on that (better than me, lol). :(
December 28, 201114 yr TristanI may be wrong (and will happily be corrected) but I believe a few Jak 40s are still in service. The remaining TU-154m has been removed from service just after a large amount of our taxes were used to pay for a full 'service' - but that's a political hot potato here and somewhere I don't want to go. If you have a few spare pounds/Euros though it could be yours :-) Possibly the Yak 40s were withdrawn from service at the same time as the Tushka. And to be honest, I haven't seen one flying around for a while - I live under an EPWA STAR. Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
December 28, 201114 yr Author I live under an EPWA STARNow that's a nice place to live, Gavin! The question is what was first: Gavin's love to aviation resulting in 'accidental' move to live under EPWA STAR, or the other way...?
