December 22, 201114 yr Why do you want orange lighting when the real lighting is as white as any incandescent bulb? Photographs don't tell the whole truth, especially about colours.Kevin Hall
December 22, 201114 yr Author I was in a 737-800 cockpit yesterday...believe me it was there was an orange flood... Amir friedland.

I was in a 737-800 cockpit yesterday...believe me it was there was an orange flood...To be honest, and blunt (it's me after all). I don't believe you.At all. Kyle Rodgers
December 22, 201114 yr Why do you want orange lighting when the real lighting is as white as any incandescent bulb? Photographs don't tell the whole truth, especially about colours.Kevin HallI agree + the photo is of a simulator (FTD) which never has the proper backlighting !!Also........the orange colour is not coming from the overhead Floodlight but from under the glareshield.Very typical of Flightdeck Solutions panels.( I like their outside visual though ! )Fred. Frederic Steiner.
December 22, 201114 yr Author well...I saw orange flood at my flight from Tel Aviv to Milan...and after some researches at the internet I saw the same flood...the picture is just to show what I mean.. there's lots of pictures showing orange flood...so its white ?? Amir friedland.
December 22, 201114 yr All the panels I seen uses simple bulbs inside the panel cover plate to light up the "transparent" (White) symbols. The bulbs are normal bulbs, so the light is what you expect from a normal bulb. Normally, when not at full bright the light is a bit more yellow. At full bright is still not white but a bit yellow, but it is as close as pmdg programmed. Pictures made by night rarely represent true colours as for white balance and camera settings.I checked also my pictures made by night, and all appears to be orange when the instruments are only yellow.Thats a picture from the classic, unedited:Thats the same picture edited to be close to what my eyes can see:Image is basically edited, it is close to the real, but does not fit it exactly.Take in mind also that light tonality depends on the age of the lamp, the age of the panel, the status of all components. Regards Andrea Daviero
December 22, 201114 yr My cell phone camera loves to give that orange effect^^ to incandescent lights. Especially when I'm in the cockpit at night. So does my Rebel. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
December 22, 201114 yr so for example here its the same effect ?1That picture is completely different from the previous jetphoto simulator, you can see that lights are now not fully orange but more close to yellow. As all 737have the same lights installed, search on the net the pictures, you will find that pmdg used the right colour combinations. ;) Regards Andrea Daviero
December 22, 201114 yr PS: background flood lights for the main panel are 2 fluorescent lamps... you can ave them as WW (warm wite) or CW (cold white) Regards Andrea Daviero
