ORBX PAKT Ketchican

Featured Replies

Not sure if it was intentional but this scenery has been released without much fanfare. I picked it up yesterday and flew into it this morning from Seattle. Visibility was pretty low and the sun had not risen enough for much light. On approach to ILS RWY 11 I was able to make out the terminal sunken down off the left side of the runway. Since this was the first time I had seen or use this scenery I thought I was having a mesh problem until I landed and slowed then realized it was no mesh problem at all but, a sloped taxiway down into the terminal area.I have not used it enough to comment or compare it to other Orbx airports but will say first impressions were positive, no frame rate issues under overcast skies and limited visibility.I had been waiting for this release and surprised they slid it in so quietly, to be perfectly honest I don't know when they released it. But the libraries file it comes with is more current than what is posted on their website or at least it was when I installed it.Anyway just a heads up for anyone waiting on it.Edit,Ooops, spelled Ketchikan with a c instead of with a k and it seems there's no way to edit the subject line? Apologies to any native Alaskan or folks who see and read this post.

It was released yesterday. Don't understand either why they didn't make more noise about it. It's certainly worth it. Downloaded right after I got the email it was available (pre-paid). Only had chance for a quick look around. Will make a full flight after Xmas.

Having sailed into Ketchikan in September with my wife I could not help but notice the runway actually sitting above the terminal. When I read that Orbx was going to release it I was ecstatic. It is a unique scenery. Needless to say I bought it - along with the underlying NA Blue PFW package. Expensive for sure - but I think more than worth it.Recommended :-)

OrbX is in my category "no brainers" :-)

Totally agree Frank,FSX would be so bland and featureless without Orbx. IMHO.

While I admire the change I saw with UTX and GEX, the packages produced by Orbx are a step above, and they should be for the extra $ involved. The problem is that I now very rarely step outside the Orbx boundaries!
