January 5, 201214 yr If you want to know where the SDK is then ask PMDG for the lawyers email address and send him an email asking him. Only joking.
January 5, 201214 yr If you want to know where the SDK is then ask PMDG for the lawyers email address and send him an email asking him. Only joking. There is a better way, just sell PMDG 737 NGX under a new brand and claim it's your property.Sooner rather than later you will know face to face the PMDG lawyer himself :(

January 5, 201214 yr Q: How many lawyers does it take to change a light bulb?A: Six. One to change the bulb and five to write the environmental impact statement.Q: What do you call a smiling, sober, courteous person at a lawyer's association convention?A: The caterer.Q: Why are lawyers like nuclear weapons?A: If one side has one, the other side has to get one. Once launched, they cannot be recalled. When they land, they screw up everything forever.Sorry fellas, not meant to offend our well meaning friends but couldn't resist :( Edited January 5, 201214 yr by Rockliffe HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776
January 5, 201214 yr Told that, I suggest opening a thread or a dedicated blog just to keep us up to date. Some of you really don't pay attention too well. If you have been following all the SDK threads you will recall the post by RSR. It states that the SDK is a business decision period! The only persons opinion that matters is his (RSR's) and that of their Legal Council. Then you will recall Ryan stating after that none of this is up for discussion or debate in the PMDG Forums. So why not go fly the NGX and let it go because the only 3 things your likely to hear in the future are.1) It is still delayed due to a legal technicality2) We changed our mind and due to a liability issue we can't resolve the SDK will not be released.3) The Legal Issue has been resolved and we will be releasing the SDK in the next couple days.Sitting here day after day debating or asking for more info only accomplishing one thing. Clogging up the AVSIM Forums with useless posts. Edited January 5, 201214 yr by UAL115 Paul Deemer

No offense taken. :)Actually, you are right. 9 out of every 10 lawyers fit the butt of your jokes quite nicely. In fact, most lawyers emerge from law school with one of two goals in mind: make things difficult for people (corporate lawyer) or help destroy the criminal justice system (criminal defense lawyers). The rest of us really have something more practical/socially useful in mind. In law there are 3 people you should never trust:1. Defense lawyers2. Plaintiff's attorneys (ESPECIALLY of the personal injury ilk)3. Juries (the individuals on a jury may be trustworthy, but, as a group, a jury is a dangerous thing.)Anytime there is a delay beause of a legal issue, one or more of the 3 people listed above are to blame. Why are PMDG's lawyers delaying the SDK release? Well, because they are worried about #2 on the list. Blood sucking IP lawyers anxious to file an infringement suit. January 5, 201214 yr Uh, if the SDKs were identical, you might have been right.I don't think he meant using the iFly SDK. I think he meant using the iFly lawyers !! They seem to be able to finalize things a lot quicker, or just don't want to extend the invoice. I thought the lawyer worked for the client, why are PMDG waiting for the lawyers to give them the OK to release it. Surly as PMDG are paying the bill and upsetting vital customers, PMDG should be getting the lawyers to work a bit faster. At least that's what I have done when I have been dealing with lawyers, give them a timescale and agree a price on that timescale. If there late they don't get paid any extra. They soon shift their bums then and I don't lose out.

Different SDKs have different code, and thus different potential for infringement.

January 5, 201214 yr ....and different lawyers do things differentlyDo you think Google's delay of the Android SDK was because of "different" lawyers, or was it perhaps due to a little elephant in the room named Oracle? Edited January 5, 201214 yr by Lawyer+Pilot
