Alabeo's PITTS S-2S

Featured Replies

Any of you bought this ? It sure looks good. I checked their fb site and posters seem to be complaining about the flight performance and "physics".What say ye ?ThanksVic

We have three models to choose from: the Alabeo Pitts S-2S, the Addictive Simulations Pitts S-1 and the Sibwings Pitts S-1/S-2The Adictive Simulations Pits won an Avsim Gold Star Award. On the other hand, Alabeo have chosen to release their Pitts as their first plane and you could bet that they would want it to be a winner. I have heard nothing at all about the Sibwings version. Certainly Sibwings graphical skills are top notch but I am less certain about their flight models.http://www.alabeo.com/index.phphttp://www.addictive.it/Pitts/http://www.sibwings.com/pitts.phpI guess I'll have to wait until some kind soul does a 3-way review...Cheers,Noel.

well I have two out of the three. The addicitive one - I thought was really really squirly and very difficult to fly,,.. am I a rw pilot? no.. so maybe this is very realistic, I don't know.the alabeo model, is twitchy and very fast but yet doable and flyable, it doesn't feel out of control like the addictive... which one is more realistic? I have no idea.but right now, I've been flying the alabeo model and I really love it, for looks and they way it flies, I really love it.. however, I can't get it to knife edge without losing altitude.. is this real or not?? again I have no idea... but I would def. recomend it for sure..

Ciao!

I only have the Sibwings version and while I have no real world qualifications, I like it a lot. A blast to fly.

Thanks you folks.Looks like it's between the sibwings and the alabeo .They both look nice. Maybe the alabeo has the better Vc ? But then again maybe the sibwings that flies more like its rw counterpart ? decisions decisions :)

I have the addicitive sims pitts and I don't think it "feels" realistic, though I've never flown an pitts before but have lots of biplane expirence.

I've got no aerobatic experience either but I own the Alabeo version. Visually it's exceptional. They've got a few bugs and will incorporate fixes into an upcoming SP. I can't get it to do some things like hammerheads... but other users are able to so it may just be a controller setting on my end. It's also low cost to you so I'd buy it. Be advised though - it has no cockpit lights for night flight.

Ryan, will it spin? This is my gripe with most FS models! Hardly any of them will perform a realistic spin.

I can't get it working unless I add a ton of rudder while in the spin. Normally rudder is required for entry but once established you shouldn't need it.

I have the Alabeo pitts, but I haven't flown it in FSX since the FDE is completely unrealistic. I was looking at the Sukoi and I would like to try it, but I won't unless someone can comment on the Flight model fix for the pitts or the exisating flight model for the sukoi.JB

Nothing approaches IRIS's Christen Eagle - it is simply the best performing of all FSX aerobatic aircraft: the Sibwings Pitts is nice, but won't spin, and the Addictive 'thing' is the worst aircraft I have ever flown.

I have the Eagle and yes it is by all means one of the most entertaining FSX addon I have, although, It's dynamic flight characteristics is way too forgiving when compared to the real aircraft.IMHO, the best sim for realistic FDE in regards to aerobatic aircraft would be the addictive simulations one. Unfortunately, it's so well done that it's harder to sim than it is to fly the s2b since flight sims inherintly leave out many important sensory indicators of acceleration that are primary tools to fly the aircraft in a high performance environment.JB
