Own AI with WOAI possible

Featured Replies

Have in FSX WOAI, which works fine, can I compile a bgl AI in FS9 using TTools then transfer the bgl to FSX Scenery/World.At some airports I have a lot of traffic with WOAI and at others i.e Miami very little. For the latter airports I would like to add more traffic to fill up the airports.I am not interested in boats or the default aircraft just AI traffic which I have in FS9 using the TTools.I presume I can put AI aircraft in the aircraft folder (not in Sim Objects/ Airplanes) to make things work. Are there any issues I may encounter doing this, like losing the installed WOAI traffic.??Do not want to get a package like Ultimate Traffic X.

The one I used was called AI FlightPlanner ver 1.3 - it says flightplanner but will convert FS9 traffic files to FSX.Just google it and a long list comes up wher you can d/l it.All the bestDenis

Thanks for your quick answer,I thought that Flightplans FSX used in WOAI were FS9 compiled that is why I could use TTools FS9 converted files and copy these to FSX.On forums I have read that these two ( FS9 & FSX) are not compatible and one sort will make the other not to work.Thats why I have asked several questions in my message. In FS9 I often use flightplans from avsim.

I use a mix of WoAI, AIG, MAIW, and stuff found in the library or AIG flight plan under construction forum. It all works. You have to decide to either put everything in FSX or FS9 format, but typical is that FPs are released in FS9, so if you want FSX you have to use AIFP2 to easily convert them over.I only install WoAI manually. I manually manage my AI fleet in a folder I set up in fsx.cfg. That way I only have a single instance of any base model/aircraft folder. You can use the default folder names WoAI gives you or create your own. There's no problem using any repaint as long as you use the right model for it.scott s..

Thats wierd, which airlines have you installed? thats the thing with WOAI. Are you using the automatic installer on their website?

Christiaan, there's no problem mixing AI from different sources together. As suggested by Denis and Scott just use AIFP to convert ALL of your AI files to the FSX format. It will even search your FSX install to look for them.

Thanks guy's for your replies.Extra info,A few months ago I got a new PC were I could also use FSX along with my FS9.I am not an experience simmer when it comes to it, especially concerning FSX.It took me a while before I managed TTools in FS9 , and just recently downloaded ADE in FS9. just to change gate sizes & airline codes. In FS9 I decompiled the default traffic. Also managed to make new 3 traffic files ( alphabet wise) for my AI addons.I installed WOAI only in FSX, using the automatic installer as I did not know how to get aircraft in FSX without buying a Traffic product.I have read on the forums that WOAI is "FS9" based as regards flight plans and that you cannot mix FS9 & FSX. Am not interested in default trafficSo I just wanted a simple solution. Therefore I thought if I made a new traffic bgl in FS9 using the TTools compiler I could then cut and paste this in FSX,Of course I know that I would have to copy the "used" aircraft to FSX, how I have to do that would be another question.Once again thanks for all your expert advice, you make sound simple, which with hindsight probably is, but like I said I am not a simmer in matters like this.I am always wary that I do something which may give me issues I cannot solve.Hope you can understand my dilemma.

i think your method is OK. Do what you want in fs9 and then copy the traffic bgls and aircraft over to fsx. You might have some issues mainly the prop texture transparency in fsx but that's easily fixed.BTW for fs9 you might want to check out AITM v2. I find it much better as a tool to manage ttools. You can also use AIFP2 in fs9, but I still like AITM.scott s..

Thanks, I am going to have a try.I am quite happy with TTools in FS9 so I will stick to this at the moment.

Copied my AI Aircraft to FSX in a new Simobjects folderMade a copy of my "own" flight plans, altered the name to avoid confusion with compiling, in FS9, transferred the traffic bgl's to FSX.Everything worked fine, had to make a few alterations to aircraft file names to avoid issues with WOAI.I am now in the process of removing the WOAI packages, only keeping what I do not yet have. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions,

something else I didn't mention before is that there are a few airport ICAO changes between fs9/fsx so some flights might not occur when copying over fs9 traffic files.scott s..

Thanks for the extra info, I have checked a few of my add-ons and am very happy with what I have achieved. All airports have the same traffic as in FS9, so my day has been made great.Once again a big thanks to you and all the other forum members who try and advise others like me.Have had a lot of support since I joined the forum.

Yep and days of the week are numbered differently, ie. in FS9 Sunday is 0 and in FSX Monday is 0.
