Error List

Hi fokls,I still love tihs bird because of the fine flight dynamics, but there are so many quirks, so maybe it is good Idea to start a list with all known issues:

  1. Fuel falves fuel flow with valves cut off
  2. Fuel Pumps Front HI feeds the front Front LO feeds the rear Rear Hi feeds nothing Rear LO feeds nothing
  3. Carb Icing simulated with fuel injection engine - Press H for Carb heat (!)
  4. ADF - Another recycled Gauge from other Carenado Planes no Stdby Frequency, sorry, this is a low Standard for US$ 34.95 Payware
  5. Battery Master Switch All lights and Avionics Switch working with master Switch Off (Maybe a result of fsuipc battery settings, so not sure if this is a bug)

to be continued ...

1) agree2) agree, but also the fuel pump switches / labels and the tooltips do not seem to be corresponding to the labels. The front engine is on left side and rear switches should all be on right side.pumps.jpg3) this seem to be an FSX thing as I understand but could be wrong.4) agree that it is very old port over ADF - I replaced with my own to have stby freq and timing as well.5) battery master OFF: all nav instruments are off by me.6) GNS530right bottom knob clickspots: Move withing page groups cannot be selected. The 3D knob hide the click area. even though the down selection work, you cannot use mouse scroll to use that to move within page groups. (I changed the xml gauge to have the up (+) seelction area as well as implemted mouse scroll so I can use any clickspot and actually move it up or down just with a mouse scroll.left bottom knob clickspots: these clickspots are pathetically small and in a moving plane with momentum effect. Practically impossible to adjust7) engine gauge creating FPS drop from 30's to low ten's frequently. When i commented out the following gauge I have a very stable FPS without these drastic drops evry now and again. This has also been already reported here//gauge05=CCTTS!GEM6, 297,0,214,211these are not the items that has been corrected by a huge number of users here and we have all shared those corrections between us so those I am not even listing here at all.

I don't have registered fsuipc , battery off, lights all work. Agree with most other things, they have manged to release a few other aircraft without a patch to fix some basic issues with this ac, poor show.

Will check the battery off lights all work. I have not checked that one must most probably you right. I jhave just checked that when battery is OFF the nav/radio instruments are still off.

A quick and dirty fix for the suction gauge reading high is to modify this line in the aircraft.cfg...[vacuum_system]max_pressure=7.00 //PSIto[vacuum_system]max_pressure=5.00 //PSI

1) Agreed2) Agreed3) My understanding is that this is a FSX issue, and not unique to this airplane or Carenado4) I wouldn't include this in an "error" or bugs list, though I certainly do wish that Carenado would improve here5) Hmm.... I use FSUIPC battery life extension, and I'm not seeing the same thing. With battery off, I CAN turn on taxi, landing and panel lights, but I hadn't noticed since this isn't something I would normally do. In fact, given that there's no virtual flashlight that a poor pilot can use, it's kinda nice to be able to flip the panel lights on when starting cold and dark in the, er... dark. With battery off, strobes, beacon, nav lights and avionics definitely do not work for me - in other words, the switch works properly for these features.6) I use Reality XP 530, which integrates very well with the 337 once you get everything set up, so I can't comment on this one7) I just don't see this one on my system. The 337 seems no more prone to framerate issues than my other add-on planes. If anything, it's better than a couple of my other Carenados - A36 [the Aspen really seems to hit my system hard] & 210 [which seems to have the most texture detail of all of 'em]- and about on par with the V35B.Eight) Hadn't noticed the vacuum issue, but fortunately that's an easy self-fixAnd finally my own addition:9) Collins Nav radio incorrectly portrayed as Com. (And thanks again to Bert for his bitmaps which can be used to fix this problem)For those reading this who're considering buying this plane and are a bit put-off by some of the comments, however, I think it's important to keep some perspective. Some of these things are annoying, yes, but the fact of the matter is that this is still a really, really nice plane that is simply a joy to fly. It flies great, looks great, and has a very immersive virtual cockpit which mostly works as it should. I would still recommend the plane highly, and sometimes that gets lost as we spend time talking about problems.Lately, I've had three planes in heavy rotation, the 337 and the two RealAir Dukes, and it's very interesting to contrast what has been done with each. The Turbine Duke, in particular, is a real standout when it comes to systems and accuracy. It's an incredible plane to fly, and the piston Duke is no slouch either. Every switch, button and knob on these things works and actually does what it's supposed to do, at least as far as can be done in a sim (I did crank up the cabin air temp yesterday, and I was still cold ;-) ). The 337 doesn't meet this level of system detail, but I do think it FLIES as accurately, and the cockpit experience is incredible. In the Dukes, it always takes me a minute to suspend disbelief and filter out the slightly bland textures. Once I spool up one of those turbines, I get there pretty quickly but it still takes a minute. In the 337, I can almost smell the avgas and oil from the second I get in. Now if I just didn't have to use the wrong fuel pump switch to start the durn thing... :-)Scott

Follow-up on this older thread: do the fuel gauges work? I did a long flight yesterday and they never budged from full.

do the fuel gauges work?

I never noticed any problem with the fuel gauges, and I have a screen shot that shows the gauge just above empty.

The first thing to do is make sure you don't have the Unlimited Fuel option checked in FSX.

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Okay thanks; that's odd, as I've never in my life ticked Unlimited Fuel on.... will double-check.

Could be I just ran really lean the whole way! ;)
