February 12, 201214 yr The new NGX for some reason at about 500 feet agl, does not need any crab and will " lose" the crosswind effect. No crab is required below 400-500 feet. The wind is set all the way to the surface. You can see it on the HSI and the heading and track will be matched instead of crabbed even thought there is a 90 degree 25 kt crosswind. Any ideas?
February 12, 201214 yr Full names in this forum please. Using default weather with MSFS or an add-on? Dan Downs KCRP
February 13, 201214 yr Had exactly the same thing. Done several approaches with a 90 degree crosswind, anything between 15 and 30 knots. Disconnect a/p between 1000 to 500ft agl and no crabbing or correction required. Using REX but thought that was just a texture add on.
April 18, 201214 yr Author Never got a response from anyone on this.....Why no crosswind below 500-800 feet with strong crosswind. You can see the crab slowly disappear.
April 18, 201214 yr Never got a response from anyone on this.... Maybe if you signed your posts like Dan asked, you would have gotten a response. Try an extreme crosswind- something like 45 or 50 knots and see. Thanks!Nick CrateChief Executive OfficerFedEx Virtual Air Cargo

April 18, 201214 yr I also had this problem, I fixed it by setting the Realism Settings to "Hard" (you can disable crash tolerance" and then crosswind has an effect on landing! Will Red

April 18, 201214 yr I also had this problem, I fixed it by setting the Realism Settings to "Hard" (you can disable crash tolerance" and then crosswind has an effect on landing! Do you need to do this if you are using a weather add on, such as AS Evolution? Rick Hobbs
