But it all came back to me once I got into it and yes I know the post from today are still wrong by the weight limitation here , but like I said I have it now.. Thanks again for your help!!!!Nice shot! Actually though, there is nothing wrong with the file size of this shot, in fact you went to the opposite extreme, it's only 27KB, you are aloud up to 200KB, so you can up it a little bit to get a little better quality, even at this though it's not bad!!! My shots (when I post them I do mostly videos now) is usually around eighty to 100kb a little higher if the size is larger (within AVSIM's upload limits though). February 14, 201214 yr Following the rules perfectly. On the other hand its a waiste to size down lovely large high quality pictures. Why not get yourself a free DropBox-account ( or something like that ) showing your big screens from there , using a small picture on the forum as a ( cold-) link to it.This means making a small low quality picture to use here at AVSIM to be used in the link to the large one.The way you show your screens now is within the AVSIM rules , nevertheless you are using bandwith and storage from http://fsfiles.org/wich ( I suppose) is not ment to be used this way.Keep in mind never use bandwith and storage from other websites than tipical storage places like DropBox ,Photobucket etc.In other words linking to images you placed on other ( screens-)websites is not done.Leen de Jageran example how it works like I described above you`ll find here http://forum.avsim.n...-in-x-plane-10/Advantages:No space used on the AVSIM server.Extreme short loadingtimes of the AVSIM page.( only the small-ones are being loaded , loading/viewing the big-ones is just optional)No limitations on filesize and dimensions for the "big-one"Maximum quality.Pixtures stay available on the screenshotforum as long as you like.

February 14, 201214 yr "Oh my days" as my niece would say in her London speak...... bring back Staggerwing please. :Praying:The avsim screenshot forum rules are clear and simple. There are two ways of uploading a screenshot.1. Directly to avsim servers... the pros for this are the screenshot size can be a maximum of 1600x1200 pixels with a maximum file size of 200kb....the cons are the pic will be deleted after 30 days.2.Store your pics on another site like photobucket and then link the pics to the avsim screenshot forum...the pros for this are the pics will be there for as long as you keep them on your site...the cons are a maximum of 1024 x 768 pixels and while again the file size limit is 200kb best to limit yourself to 190kb as the site add a few kbs to the file.Either way the file size limit is 200kb....it is really simple... save your pics at less than 200kb no matter what. And of course is limit of 10 pics that should in the first message of the topic.... February 14, 201214 yr If you want to upload screens to AVSIM there are rules and limitations. If you want to hot-link to an image there are rules and limitations. If you want to show big pictures , use the way I described.( using a small picture in a cold link to a place where the big one is.)In fact thats not uploading a picture at all , thats linking to pictures somewhere-else without any conflict with the rules. It`s the same as just giving a link to a website with a tiny picture in the link.To be frank ,its the best way to show pictures without any need of space at the AVSIM server , not tearing the forum apart , giving very fast opening topics due to an absolute minimum of loading time.MIND I am talking about "cold" linking to an external source and not about uploading to AVSIM. CheersLeen de Jager
February 14, 201214 yr If you want to show big pictures , use the way I described.( using a small picture in a cold link to a place where the big one is.)Leen de JagerThen the avsim screenshot rules need to be re-written as they do not include this method of linking pics that are not only much larger in pixel size but also file size. My FS Videos
February 14, 201214 yr As this ,is not showing pictures on the AVSIM website ,the rules only apply for the small picture (1024/200kb , in my example less than 100KB ) wich is used in the link to the website where the big one is shown.Posting a link to another website where big screens are shown is allowed on AVSIM.The AVSIM server nor its bandwith is used to show them. Its a big difference between showing at the AVSIM website or just linking for the big one to another site from the AVSIM page. The way I show the big ones they actually are`nt shown at the AVSIM page , they are on my webserver/page , using my webspace and bandwidht .This is in fact as linking to my website this way www.flybike-paints.nl just using a small picture to click on.AVSIM has no problem with that and will not have in future.CheersLeen
February 14, 201214 yr In all my years of being an avsimmer I thought the avsim screenie forum rules were clear ..... there are ...as clear as mud. Why not make life easy for the screenshot forum mods and make one rule for all?I am very much a quality over quantity man but there is room for all so why not just say 1600 x 1200 and 250kb limit no matter what method one usesThat way the screenshots mods have time to enjoy flying as well :( My FS Videos
February 14, 201214 yr 1600x1200 at 250 kb cannot lead to hight quality screens. The big screen in my example is about 2Mb as it is PNG at 100% JPG (uncompressed)it is lighter and nearby the same quality but way over 250Kb..External hosting and showing is the solution.Presenting ( linking!! )on the screenshotforum instead of showing is the answer , I think.Time will tell.Leen
February 14, 201214 yr 1600x1200 at 250 kb cannot lead to hight quality I am sorry I did not make myself clear. Pixel size or file size does make a quality screenshot to me....composition does. My FS Videos
