GSX or something else (not a rant)

Featured Replies

I purchased GSX and to date it is not functioning for me. The support people are working hard to resolve this, no complaints there. While I truly would like to have it work, BTW it did work during one ground test and one flight, it no longer does. Anyway if it can't be resolved is there another program like it artound? Thanks

AES is a nice product. And with the latest updates from Aerosoft, the vehicles look much more realistic.

There's AES of course, from Aerosoft. Comes with the credit system. But did you read Tom's post on a tricky problem with the installation already? http://forum.avsim.n...irtuali-and-gsx
Good information, this is one thing I will look at when I get home.

Just be aware AES is airport specific, most of which are payware (There are a few freeware), if you don't have the payware airports, and don't intend n buying them, AES won't work for you. That's the beauty of GSX, you don't have that limitation. There has got to be something in your configuration, that is not allowing GSX to work, my guess would be a problem in the dll.xml file. If you would like PM me with the contents of it and the exe.xml file and I may be able to help!

Thanks

I consider it more of a feature than a limitation. Specific airports means specific customizations for that airport which has its advantages.

Dropped you a PM, looked at AES as well and this would not work for me. I have added the .dll and .exe as "allow" in my firewall, any other tips for getting around the anti virus.

Which don't help you if you are flying out of a non AES airport, of which is 95% of FSX airports!!

Before discounting GSX, you should have more patience, because maybe we found something ( related to a problem with the free ATI Tray Tool ), that *might* affect you too, even if you don't have an ATI card, and the next executable is already online, just re-run the Stand-Alone Addon Manager installer to get it, and let me know if it works better now.

And if by 95% of the airports you mean default FSX airports then it is of no consequence to me. I can't remember the last default airport I flew in or out of. Others may, and for them that's great, but for me it's a feature I have no use for.I have yet to decide which way I will go, but at the moment correctly docking jetways and personalized pushback procedures are weighing in a bit heavier on my decision.

Depends... I like to fly into local airports that are not represented by hi-fidelity 3rd party developers. For those airports, I rely on my Avsim friends who develop AFCADs, and my on knowledge to put together my own custom AFCADs.I respond to your post because I used to feel the same way until I discovered just how good a custom, realistic AFCAD with My Traffic X can be. Now my favorite places to fly are the default KCLT and KGSO with custom AFCADs I stuck together. Otherwise yes; FSDT, LatinVFR, and a few others get a lot of love from me.Sorry OP. I couldn't help the distraction.
