February 22, 201214 yr Hi people!Little problem: when I use the 737-800 Ryanair I hear two V1 calls, with two different voice tones. The first V1 is called just few before the correct velocity while the second is called AT correct velocity.Last, when I use the KULULA's 737-800 only one V1 in called. Can you help me?Thanks.Emanuele
February 22, 201214 yr Sounds like you have FO callouts enabled Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
February 22, 201214 yr That is normal, and can be adjusted I believe.. One of the V1 calls is the pseudo F/O.The other one is the airplane itself calling it out. I think those can be toggled off and onin the CDU. I leave both of mine on. How those are used will vary to the company I think. Mark Keith
February 22, 201214 yr V1 is the maximum speed at which you must take the first action to reject a take-off if you want to safely bring the plane to a stop without running off the runway (in a critical runway length scenario). That means if you only decide to reject at V1 you will take the first action about a second later, at which point you will be above V1 and thus overrrun. Hence a number of airlines now have it as their policy for the pilot monitoring (PM) to call V1 5 knots prior to reaching the actual V1. That way if the pilot flying (PF) decides to reject the moment he hears the V1 call the first action will still take place before or at V1. The plane itself will call out V1 at the actual V1 speed set. Which call-outs you get depends on the aircraft options you (or the livery maker) have set. Some airlines have adopted the practice of calling 'Go' instead of 'V1' at the V1 speed, but I'm not sure if that's an Airbusism. February 23, 201214 yr Commercial Member Oh the things that could be solved if people paid attention to the release notes in SPs, and simply went searching for themselves in the settings...Maybe it's just me... Kyle Rodgers

I'm too good for this world. :( But it's true: it's amazing that there are so many question of which the answers can be found in the pdf's... People don't seem to know that you can SEARCH pdf's? :(
February 23, 201214 yr Author Oh the things that could be solved if people paid attention to the release notes in SPs, and simply went searching for themselves in the settings...Maybe it's just me...probably you are in reason but - for me . the main question is: WHY TWO V1 calls? We need ONLY ONE v1 call and ONLY ONE Vr call.To the user only the possibility to hear or not to hear the calls; in few words ON/OFF calls... and stop! So, returning to thread... why I hear TWO V1 calls?
February 23, 201214 yr Your question was already answered by a few people.PMDG added the F/O callout 5 knots before V1 in a service pack. The airplane itself calls out the actual V1, Vr, V2..You can disable the F/O callout in the EQUIPMENT menu in the FMC. Edited February 23, 201214 yr by Guy014 Erik L.

As V1 is passed, the aircraft will also announce V1. It's a company option on both accounts. Kyle Rodgers
