Accu-Feel Released

It works on most planes under most circumstances but not all. Our C310 and the T-38A experience weirdness (tested and verified) when using accufeel....The 310R AP cuts out on switching views and then cuts back in after about 4 or 5 seconds. Accu-feel off, no cut outs. The T-38A soundset cuts out when the landing gear goes out for about 2 to 3 seconds... then cuts back in again. Accu-feel off... no cut outs.Just saying we're not alone. Apparently some have had issues with the NGX as well... (apparently and unconfirmed)

Well if you look at Accu-Feel's interface, just one more reason A2A thought of everything. Along with settings to tune it, they give you the option to turn it off. I have to say it's an all around excellent product with exceptional use.

I wasn't commenting on the product itself. I bought it as well and it's a good one for sure. I am just letting OUR customers know that there are issues...

It does not surprise me to learn that AccuFeel might potentially clash with add-on aeroplanes that have some fancy stuff going on in the background. I must admit, I viewed AccuFeel as an enhancement to drag my less systematically snazzy FS add-ons up another level and give em a touch of the A2As, rather than something I'd stick on every add-on I've got, so the notion doesn't really bother me. The Just Flight DC-6 for example, and their DC-3 are two which benefit from it greatly.Al

Well, I love it in the MV F-15E... it's great... perhaps a bit high pitched but still... pretty cool.

Can you individually adjust and save each airplane volumes with this program? I mean FSX you can adjust engine, air and enviro sounds for all planes but does this program allow you to set custom volumes for ALL sounds per plane.

Is this program only for virtual cockpit view or does it enhance outside view sounds also?

Each individual aeroplane initially has a set of AccuFeel values worked out for it based on the utility taking a best guess from its config file, but you can adjust all those parameters easily with a bunch of sliders and that will then be the new individual profile for that aircraft. Then you can choose to either turn it on or off. All this is from within FSX, so it takes about ten seconds to change stuff if you want to.

It has some effect on exterior stuff too, for example, the wings will rock about a bit more when taxying if you tweak the settings. It is well worth having, it is probably the best ten quid you can spend on an FSX add on. The brake squeal and the effect it has on the take off roll alone is worth the price of entry.

What's the saying again ? Ah, yes : "A picture speaks a thousand words !"

These are the per-airplane settings.

And yes, Accu-Feel is a must-have .

Yes, gotta say, it's the best addon I have bought in a long time. Not into modern A/C, prefer the old boneshakers, bush and float. Set of cans and the right settings and.....it's amazing.

Arnie....if it ain't broke, don't fix it...

There are also a lot of people who seem to think accu-feel is just sounds. It is not. There are many physics effects provided also.

I have seen it called a "sound engine" on several forums right here at Avsim

So if I would set prop/turbine to 0, there would be no engine sound for that particular plane in any camera view, correct?

Milviz,

<<The T-38A soundset cuts out when the landing gear goes out for about 2 to 3 seconds... then cuts back in again. Accu-feel off... no cut outs.>>

I fly your T-38 a lot (one of my favorites), and I had not noticed that happening with Accu-feel. I will typically lower the gear on downwind at about 220-230 knots, and I'll add 60 percent flaps immediately afterward. I definitely hear the wind rush at that point, but I hadn't noticed any sounds dropping out in the background... but then again, I haven't been listening for it. I'll try a couple of trips around the pattern tonight and pay particular attention when I drop the gear to see if I can hear any cutouts in the sound.

Simple but effective Statement:"If it an't broke , don't fix it"....

...In other words, if an a/c add-on is so good that it needs no other add-ons to make it "better," why bother trying to enchance it. I personally love how everything functions on several of my top add-ons. Adding anything else is almost useless. Yes, I am sure this product is great, but it doesn't mean it will get along well with every a/c out there.

--- (+) Example: I love the sound set on my Airbus X, PMDG 747 , MD 11 and 737, and IFly 737. There are custom built sound set out there which are not as good as the sound-set on these original a/c; so why chamge it ? (just an example). On the other hand I do see a meaningful change to purchase repaints from Mcphat Studios for my a/c as they greatly make a positive difference.

--- (-) Example: That "shade" add-on: I installed it and use it for about 1 hour then un-installed it threw it out from the 32st floor of my apt window...didn't like it, bam ! The same I did with GEX Americas add-on, etc, etc, etc.

So if I would set prop/turbine to 0, there would be no engine sound for that particular plane in any camera view, correct?

No, it's an extra sound effect

Prop / Turbine Volume

When opening the main exit, you will hear the sound of the propellers come through that gives more audio feedback to the engine.

Basically, it just gives a nicer, open cockpit experience. This is automatically created for both single and multi-engines, and can be changed

as you wish.

FYI... I took your T-38 up last evening and listened for dropouts at gear extension, gear retraction, flap extension, flap retraction, and all was well. Accu-feel on with default settings. I don't doubt that what you say is true, but I'm experiencing no anomalies on my system. I really enjoy what Accu-feel adds to the T-38, especially during taxi and canopy open/close, and I love flying your airplane... it's a real winner!

Best,

Ken
