Hawaiian adventure pack

I just got back from 3 weeks in Hawaii, and including other trips there we have explored 5 Islands. Anyway I am very impressed with the way MS has re-created these islands. It really does take me back to being there. Also noticed many small details and nice surprises that I would not have expected. One huge improvment to me is how they managed to make the mountains appear so large. You really feel like you are flying a small aircraft. One thing I found strange is I think they forgot to put in Aloha Stadium in Honolulu? I didn't see it when I did my flight over Ford Island. It's kind of a landmark, no?

Only if the Warriors have a winning season. Losing records cause the stadium to disappear...
I agree Jeff... I think Microsoft did an absolutely fantastic job. I didn't learn to fly there... Marine Corps had me doing, ehem, "other" things. But I did spend a number of years there flying over the islands (as a pax) in CH-46s / 53s and driving into and out of various military bases. When I went to Pearl and floated up to the Arizona Memorial with the Icon, I half thought I'd be able to see the wall at the end with all the sailors names on it who perished that fateful day in '41. The gun tubs are plainly visible tho.Anyone reading this on Oahu in the military... best chow on the island (at a military base) is at the Sub-base at Pearl. :-DI was surprised to see the little "hill" in the middle of the Kaneohe Marine Base that has a road which circles to the top. Many "pleasant" memories running up that thing. One thing the Microsoft team missed was the rifle range is missing and iirc "they" put housing there instead. MSFT... pushups... begin.
Yeah, I've made quite a few runs to the top of Radar Hill at K-Bay myself. I was really impressed with the buildings near the runway, which are correct in size, orientation and placement. They even got the painted signs on the hangars right (I've worked out of Hangars 104 and 105, there.)

I've already admonished MS in feedback for leaving out landmarks like the stadium, Trippler, and Aloha Tower. Hopefully we'll get them in an update.

Oo-rah! Hardcharger! So you used to swing with the wing! I was on the "other side" of the base.Yes, I noticed that Aloha Tower was missing (couldn't find it that is...)... although I've actually been inside Tripler (and would hang out at Shafter from time to time)... didn't notice it wasn't there... HUGE miss by me... good attention to detail there.Be careful what branch you admit to here... Tom occasionally has me digging latrines... mess hall duty... guard duty... doing push-ups till he gets tired... etc....

Heh, I was Navy, actually, but we tried not to let you Devil Dogs have ALL the "fun." Unfortunately. :DThey also did a great job at the former NAS Barbers Point, at least near the flight line. I got a little nostalgic seeing the big rainbow on the old P-3 hangar there.
