February 29, 201214 yr Commercial Member I got it for free, but I think its a MUST BUY. The big island of Hawaii is boring as hell. Not a lot to do or see. Plus the RV6 you get with it is one of the best simulated yet. There were a few RV6 owners in the beta and they said MS nailed the FM on it.Maule is also really nice.SKIP THE MUSTANG!!!!!!!!!!!! Hell, I would be OK with boycoting the Mustang! Let MS know we DONT want cockpit-less toys in our sim. Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer
February 29, 201214 yr I did. I grew up in the State of Hawaii and did all of my Private Pilot Certificate training there, so it was a no-brainer. I'll need high-fidelity heavy metal for me to even consider this a long-term replacement. However, I've wasted more money on cruder toys, so the $20 wasn't a biggie.I'm D/Ling at the moment, so I can't confirm/disconfirm my well-documented rage and ire just yet. I don't predict buying much DLC if my perspective (the "we plan on preserving the heritage and legacy of Flight Simulator..." perspective) doesn't get real representation within a year. Also, not having the rest of the world is going to be a grade-A bummer. However, if this is to be a "Hawaii Sim," then at least I can think of it as an updated Flight Unlimited.I hope all of the people who, at some point during the beta, did a 180 on their Flight opinions know something I don't. February 29, 201214 yr I also got it for free (for my beta testing). I received this early in the Beta Testing, and have been using it since Jan 11th. In my opinion, the price is a bargain, when you consider that it comes with the Van's RV-6A . . . which is my favorite Flight aircraft (so far). The ability to take off at one island and land at another is a HUGE plus to me, Before that, it was easy to get bored with just the Big Island. February 29, 201214 yr I bought it. Love the RV!Yeah, it is a really special little airplane with exquisite handling characteristics.
February 29, 201214 yr So, how many of you got it?I did......Guilty. I purchased it... Lol. I've actually enjoyed the missions.... I'm not let down because it is what I was expecting, entertainment with a focus on what I love --aviation.Admitedly I wasn't a big Flight nay-sayer to begin with.. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
February 29, 201214 yr Hmmm...I'll do some waiting then.A limited number of beta testers received the addon package for free, based on their efforts and activity during the beta test. They based it on certain things like activity with useful posts in the forum or useful feedback in the bug ticket system and stuff like that. So you might be waiting for something that won't come. The mail announcing this went out about two weeks ago, so if you haven't received something yet, don't get your hopes up too high ;). Edited February 29, 201214 yr by Propane
February 29, 201214 yr I got the add on pact and was abet disappointed with the buildings and such. I like the new plane. The Koolau mountains are pretty spectacular especially at dawn with a mist in the air. I think Diamond Head is a disappointment. They have missed allot of landmarks and the Airports and military bases are so so. I would like to see some AI and No Sacred Falls come on. I would be reluctant to buy anymore till they address some of these issues which I think they will as time goes on. So for now FSX is my go to sim and Flight will just be a adventure when I feel like it.Josh CPU: Intel i9-11900K @5.2 / RAM: 64GB DDR4 3200 / GPU: 4080 16GB /
February 29, 201214 yr Yup. Started it downloading while I was playing around in Flight and found to my surprise that it installed itself and was ready to go. Will need some convincing to buy the Maule. A lot of the jobs look like you need one though.Mike Dryden Mike Dryden
