March 3, 201214 yr Commercial Member You starved the engine of fuel when you switched the fuel tanks to off. Also you need to hold down the AUX button to get a reading on the aux tank. Its a way of using 1 gauge for two functions. Good video overall though! The Flight Maule has a lot more function then the FSX Maule. Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer
March 3, 201214 yr The Flight Maule has a lot more function then the FSX Maule. Please define! The only function I see that works in Flight vs FSX is the Fuel Transfer pumps. I'll trade that for an Autopilot any day!! I have to say though I do like the adjustable panel lighting in Flight although I like the lighting in FSX better. Unfortunately I can't find a photo of a night cockpit, to see which is correct (If either is) or the closest. Plus the Flight Maule looks amazing vs the dull flat FSX Maule. Im also noticing a LOT of bugs in the FSX Maule. The right aileron animation is inverted. Opening the door causes the glass to slide forward. The aileron retracts into the wings at the extent of its animation. There is a big gap between the glass and left wing over the pilots head. The tank selector is facing the wrong way (handle goes AWAY from the selected tank). Should I go on? To put it bluntly, nobody knows about the FSX and Flight Maule then I do. Plus I know if FLY'S like a proper Maule. There are also a lot of the systems under the surface that are modeled better in the Maule that I cant go into detail about. March 3, 201214 yr nice video, we just need that auto pilot alive NOW. Image removed as image is no longer available.

The only 2 that I saw was the Fuel Xfer pump and that restat panel lights. Thank you for enlightening me on the other functions. I never noticed the problem with the ailerons either. The stall warning and light works fine on my system, except, it seems to go off after the stall. (Not very helpful there I admit) I do have a question on the video you made (Which was really good, thank you for that) You made a statement when you were sitting on runway 8L at PHNL in the Vans. You said in FSX you only got 15FPS Vs 30 in Flight. I was wondering in what settings were you using in FSX when you got this, and what are your system spec?. On my system which is only an E6850 C2D @3Ghz, with no AI max scenery and Autogen, (Except Water 2XMED) with Ground Shadows on I get in the low 50's even with a more detailed 3rd party aircraft the A2A Mustang! March 3, 201214 yr Commercial Member The FPS comment was in a city situation like down-town Seattle. In the open I can get about 30FPS, but once I hit the city, it drops like a rock. I have an ATI 6950 with 2GB of ram, thats up from an ATI 4870 with 1GB of RAM and notice 0 improvement in FPS. FSX is CPU limited, and frankly does not like ATI cards. Im sure a HIGHLY tweaked and HIGHLY modded FSX can run better, but my FSX is almost bone-stock. The only mods other then a few of my own FSX add-on aircraft and other aircraft is OrbX PNW and OrbX 3W5 airport. I only fly in the PNW. At times I have gotten 50FPS over open area, but in the city, it just crawls. Yes FSX can be tweaked and modded to perform well, but Flight performs well stock without tweaking. Thats a big bonus for me who does not have time to scour a forum for a solution. Also I fly FSX at 1280x800 and get 30FPS, and I fly Flight at 1920x1200 and get 60FPS. Huge gap! March 3, 201214 yr Commercial Member No. Just a general FPS reading. I havent flown Hawaii in FSX. Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer
March 3, 201214 yr No. Just a general FPS reading. I havent flown Hawaii in FSX.As demonstrated above, I usually don't have any problem with performance with GA type aircraft, 3rd party or default. (Except maybe the Flight 1 Cessna Mustang) It's the heavy stuff like the NGX, or CS757 that I end up tweaking for. It would be interesting, (although it doesn't look like it will ever happen) to see how Flight would handle them!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
March 3, 201214 yr Carb heat doesnt work? that mean theres no carb icing simulated too?Is there a technical reason not to start engine with alternator ON?I see Maule M-7-260C should be equipped with Lycoming IO-540-W in RL and that engine should be fuel injection engine, so, my mistake. Anyway, MS should write engine type in aircrafts specification page. March 3, 201214 yr Interested in mv's comment about his level of maule knowledge.... .... .... :)So...how deeply are the systems modeled? Does pitot heat do anything? Does fuel tank balance affect handling? That sort of thing.Also. I've had a lot of problems getting the maule off the ground. Now i'm not much good with taildraggers, so i may just be doing something stupid. But when i throttle on on the rumway, she does a 90 degree turn to the left and goes into the weeds. Full right rudder, or gradual application of power don't help. Turning off prop effect in settings didn't help. Is this a bug and is anyone else experiencing it, or am i missing something with my maule takeoff technique? March 3, 201214 yr Is directional gyro drift and adjustment work in the maule? I tried in the van yesterday and its not. Too bad as this is one of the small routine you have to take care every 10 minutes or so in RL flying. PierreP3D when its freezing in Quebec....well, that's most of the time...C-GDXL based at CYQB for real flying when its warming up...
