March 5, 201214 yr One of the most challenging Landing Challenges is with the Maule on a sloped runway that slopes up almost as soon as you touch down... I thoroughly enjoy all the landing challenges. I wish there was more for all the aircraft. It's a really great way to get you to improve your landing techniques with all the aircraft. You're playing a `game' but actually improving your skills in varied conditions at the same time. March 5, 201214 yr Commercial Member I've never tried them and truth be told, have always been a bit skeptical of their surround abilities since they're so close to the ear. That and the weight of most around-the-ear style headphones. Also I frequently use TeamSpeak, so I'd need ones with a quality mic. They would have the added benefit of keeping my wife happy.Should I look at them? Any recommendations?WildBillDont tell anyone this, but im an AVID gamer. I play MMO's, FPS, and things other then flight sims! (GASP!). I have tried MANY MANY sourround headsets. I think I found one I finally like! Logitech G35. Its the wired version. Saves you like $50. Last night, I did a cargo run from start to finish in the Maule. It was a night run, so I had the lights in my room turned off. I took off, climbed up, and headed out. When I approached my destination, I powered down and started my descent. I started to approach NVE, and I heard something behind me. A loose panel shaking, seats rattling, stuff just shaking. I TURNED AROUND IN REAL LIFE! I thought my wife had come in the room and was messing with stuff behind me! Nope! Was just the game. I powere down a little more since I got good audio feedback saying "your flying a little fast". Later on, during final I dropped the flaps. Again, I turned around thinking my wife came into the room again. This has happened more then its fair share. Also, this is the first set of headphones that dont dig my glass frames into the side of my head. Very comfy. Mounting the track clip may be problematic, but nothing duct tape cant fix. I will worry about that once Flight supports TIR. These cans have very good positional audio, and dont make everything sound like a ton of bass. The mic features are also nice to have, and volume on the left ear peace. Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer
March 5, 201214 yr The more I am annoyed Microsoft left me nothing else to spend my money on! LET"S GO MS! Release more DLC and take my money!! :lol:Steady... you'll have nothing left for RW3 DLC :P
March 5, 201214 yr Steady... you'll have nothing left for RW3 DLC :PIt's also probably why this business model from MS doesn't even phase me.. This business model with the exception of locking out 3rd party developers is almost identical to RSC's business model. That worked out well for them.. Same doom and gloom 3 years ago when Railworks 1 was released. "It will fail" "Terrible business model, it will never work" "I like MSTS better, Railworks is just a kids game" "No one will buy all that DLC" Three years later they still survive and survive well and the user base has grown tremendously. March 5, 201214 yr I'm surprised no one has mentioned sloping runways yet. Some of the dirt strips can curve up and down hills.I did. But not in this topic. :wink:Regarding the opening post: +1. To tell you and everyone the truth, I haven't fired up FSX ever since I have MS Flight on my hard disk. Edited March 5, 201214 yr by J van E

I was a "pro-Flighter" before getting to try it, I'm even more so now as it has exceeded my expectations.

They are pricey, and bass response is generally poor, which is to be expected with four speakers crammed into the space usually taken by one.You really can detect 3d sound much better though, almost to the degree of an unfair advantage in shooters that support it, and the occasional movie can be eye-opening. It will be a personal opinion whether it's all worth it. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. March 5, 201214 yr I'm loving Flight too and I must admit I was a bit skeptical having lost most of the features I was expecting in a sim.
March 5, 201214 yr Author Now the most favorite geography will be coming: the 49thState of Alaska! Looks promising, doesn't it? I really think we are looking at FSX's next evolution. Microsoft this week insinuated that it would like to be like Apple in the future, and we all know how Apple keeps things under wraps until the very last minute. Thanks for you contributions to this thread.Stan
March 5, 201214 yr I love my FSX, the add-ons I have and how it performs now on my system, and plan to continue to get many hours of enjoyment out of it.But I am right there with you Stan, I have now logged about 7 hours into Flight, and am enjoying it more and more and getting very excited about what is coming down the pike...My only problem now, is where I am going to find the time now that I have two fantastic flight sims to enjoy...
