March 5, 201214 yr the more I am appreciating it. Let me explain. I still love FSX, but...I'm seeing wonderful scenery with trees that look like trees. Ships (in Pearl Harbor) that look like ships, and other things. I like the way the planes sound and how they increase in speed AND sound when you descend rapidly. I am appreciating the islands of Hawaai in a different way. I see "POTENTIAL". Yes, that's what it is....I see potential. Imagine many more planes, and much more landmass. Imagine my beloved ForceFeedback being added (I know some of you don't care about that...but I really do!). Imagine weather and clouds getting added.Yes, there is much more. But I see how this skeleton of a simulator can possibly get some "meat on its bones".Call me a "radical"...call me "nuts". You know what they say about sticks and stones and breaking bones, but I find myself gravitating to FLIGHT on a daily basis and actually seeing the real potential of a great sim. Yes...I said it....a SIM!Stan
March 5, 201214 yr Very well said Stan, and I would say there are more and more that would agree with you as the days go by.... Don B

I see FS11 in the making...Microsoft is hopefully pulling a CaptainSim on us where the final product will be an outstanding effort all around. March 5, 201214 yr I second (or is it fourth?) your remarks.I'm loving it. Can't wait for more DLC to become available. Only one I'm skipping ATM is the P-51. As much as I LOVE this classic warbird, I just can't fly from outside. Give it a VC and I'm so there.WildBill
March 5, 201214 yr The way the aircraft sound is great - MS have done a great job with the audio!Have you noticed you can hear reflection of sound off objects & the ground?Have you heard the sounds of cargo & passengers? I flew a sick kid to Hilo last night, he coughed and groaned the whole way, landing was a bit bumpy due to turbulence and he really didn't like that! With 5.1 speakers I could hear him behind me the whole time - quite atmospheric. The sounds of other planes very close by seems accurate, too, as do the squeaks of brakes & undercarriage.Interesting that there was a package produced for FSX a few weeks ago that added this level of audio detail; and here we are with Flight having it all built-in!I also noticed that the Icon engine will cut out if you fly it with negative Gs for more than a few seconds!Yet again last night I was flying multiplayer with a guy in Queensland and someone from Ohio - just mucking around in various planes, seeing who could do the most outrageous landings, or fly under the smallest bridges, or get the best head-to-head screenshots. Good fun!
March 5, 201214 yr Stan - I couldn't agree more. If I have a reservation - it is the accumulating cost as add-ons are released. Regards Frank Jones

March 5, 201214 yr I splurged for the surround headphones a few years ago. I've never tried them and truth be told, have always been a bit skeptical of their surround abilities since they're so close to the ear. That and the weight of most around-the-ear style headphones. Also I frequently use TeamSpeak, so I'd need ones with a quality mic. They would have the added benefit of keeping my wife happy.Should I look at them? Any recommendations?WildBill
March 5, 201214 yr Just this morning i was walking around Hilo checking out the guys up in the sky and someone with a mustang did a low flight by and the sound sure was realistic the same goes for any other aircraft taxing around . all those few things are what invites anyone to get out of the plane and walk around in flight. March 5, 201214 yr I'm surprised no one has mentioned sloping runways yet. Some of the dirt strips can curve up and down hills.
