March 7, 201214 yr In game, there is no much difference, just maybe slight better performances at higher altitudesI wouldn't have got to the volcano top without leaning out the mixture, definite performance loss.Could maybe have climbed in opposite direction eventually, but definitely not following the slope!CheersKeith ...
March 7, 201214 yr In game: Try this. Do a biplane tour on the big island. Take off, leave the mixture full rich and press N to jump to the next waypoint. If the waypoint is at altitude, such as the observatory, your engine will quit from being over-rich, as many people have found out.The P-51 has a very narrow band on the mixture where the engine will run at 35,000 feet.Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
March 7, 201214 yr P51's engine is way more complex for exploitation than maule's engine, and in game its simplified too much, so lets not compare it. Lj. Prodanovic
March 7, 201214 yr the mixture doesn't seems to affect the manifold pressure in the RV-6. And no EGT gauge, kinda a pity cause I don't always like to have my volume blasting to lean the engine....
