March 9, 201214 yr TomWith the greatest of respect could you please address the access to the forums.I have been visiting your Forums for years and have not experienced before the problems as now are occurring.I have deleted cookies, used IE and Firefox(default) but problem happens still and has intermitently for approx 2 weeks. When I attempt to enter main forum page I am directed to http://forum.avsim.net/.and from there can only access main forum pageby selecting Community -dropdown box - and selecting Avsim forums most of the time. Just now it has taken 5 attempts to get to the forum page.It doesn't stop there. For example attempting to select FS2Crew forum which has numerous sub-forums results in me having to restartfrom Community again. To access PMDG sub forum in FS2Crew takes about 25 attempts to get there at times. While I appreciate your attempts to create the most effecient use of your forum software, during the last 2 weeks it is becoming a nightmare to accessthe main Avsim forum not to mention the various sub-forums such as PMDG, FS2Crew with their further sub -forums.Your assistance/advice of what is wrong with the forum would be appreciated.Normally I just flow with such problems knowing that eventually they will be resolved. In this case the problem seems to be excalating over a period of time.Surely I am not the only member experiencing this problem and please be assured this is not a personal attack on yourself . I regard youwith admiration on how you conduct the operation of your "baby". Pity some other owners of such FS forums don't learn from your experience, but I had not better go there.Regardsnoels7 Noel Southam
March 9, 201214 yr Same problems here. I love AVSIM but lately it has been soooo tiring to move around. Discouraging... :unsure:Until yesterday I had to click many times to get into specific forums. Now it is even worse because all I can see in the beginning is:
March 9, 201214 yr I experienced the same blank page issue for the past several hours as well, but I may have found the cause - at least for me...I run Firefox 10.0.2 with AdBlock Plus installed - on a whim, I took a look at the AdBlock logs and features, and when the blank page issue struck, there were blocked items listed by ABP which did not look like actual advertisements... they were scripts attempting to run on the AVSIM page. After disabling AdBlock, the AVSIM forums load and function normally with no issues.Recommendation: If you are using AdBlock or any similar software tools, disable it fully to see if that solves the issue. If it does solve the issue, consider adding a site exception for AVSIM to prevent it from causing problems on the forums. You shouldn't need to disable or uninstall the AdBlock software, just make sure that forum.avsim.net is set up as an exception.Good luck!-Greg
March 9, 201214 yr This issue arose when we installed a module that we were evaluating for future application. It took me a while to figure out which of the modules recently installed was the culprit. That should now be fixed including that of mobile access.
March 9, 201214 yr Based on the above hint, I've also disabled Adblock on the Avsim Forum page and notice an immediate improvement. Bert

A couple of refreshes got me in. Steve Smith i7-2600K - GTX580 - 8GB ram
