March 11, 201214 yr Hey gang,If it is available to you, and you have not yet done so, you really want to do this mission. I did it late last night, and it was incredible. A blast to do, the scenery there along the coastline is gorgeous, and there are some aerocaches to be had as well.In addition, that is the first time I have spent much time on the water in the Icon. The Flight team did a fantastic job of modeling the Icon being on water, dang thing felt like I was driving a boat. The sound of the water as you skimmed across it hitting the hull, was very realistic. Now I have never flew an Icon in RL, or any airplane for that matter, on water or land - but I have been in boats numerous times, and boy did it sound like I was in a boat. Open the canopy while you cruise across the water and listen to the difference in the sound. Get the speed up and you can feel the Icon getting " on plane".Cruise up near the shoreline, shut off the engine and hop out and walk around - then when you get tired of that, go back into the Icon and off you go.This was an absolute blast to fly, heck I may be the last one here on the forums currently to do it , but again if you have not I encourage you to give it a go, you will have some serious fun! March 11, 201214 yr Yeah, some of those missions are quite immersive! Yesterday, one of the missions delivered a very tragic and touching story... One of a young scientist who dreamed of seeing a comet that would only pass near earth once, never to be seen again.. One night, she takes a ride on an airplane to go above the clouds and fulfill her dream, living the experience she had waited her entire life to live... She finally feels complete, and, by an irony of destiny, her plane crashes on the way back...

March 11, 201214 yr Yeah, that Kayak mission was one of the first things that made me go WOW about MS Flight! Before that I hadn't done anything else but daytime flights and I was a bit disappointed in the shadows and the light in MS Flight. Not anymore after doing that mission! The light, the mood, the looks, the fun...! Great stuff.

March 11, 201214 yr Cruise up near the shoreline, shut off the engine and hop out and walk around - then when you get tired of that, go back into the Icon and off you goI dropped the gear and taxied onto the beach - got out, walked over to get the aerocache in the cave, then walked over to the surfer. What surprised me was how "realistically" it went up onto the beach - needed to add some power, had what seemed the correct nose attitude, etc...
March 11, 201214 yr I enjoyed the rescue mission a lot. Before heading to one of the waypoints, I spotted something on the ground the peaked my interest... So I came around the check it out, and there he was. For anyone that hasen't completed it yet, keep your eyes peeled not only on the waypoint marker. It would be nice if these were off anyway for a SAR mission.
March 11, 201214 yr Yes. Let's hope there are a few (more than a few) good bush-flying missons in the Alaska DLC :Praying: And, perhaps a 185 Bush variant? With big wheels and all? pant pant :P JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
March 12, 201214 yr The only thing funny was that the kayak dude kept poking around in his fire while a seaplane had obviously spotted him, landed, sailed to the beach, got ashore and drove up to him to about 10 feet for him to finally notice it...Obviously he not only fixed himself something to eat but to smoke as well... :Just Kidding: Jan

March 12, 201214 yr Was an Alaska DLC pack confirmed? Is there a release date?Answer to question #1: YesAnswer to question #2: I'm sure there is a date it will be released :P, more seriously: if there is already a fixed release date planned it has not yet been communicated to the public.
