FT/PIC737 Evo 2D Panel Update FS2004

Featured Replies

I must retract my statement that the plan could not be saved. This time I first went to the RTE page and clicked LSK5L "save" and although nothing seemed to happen I the saved to FS with ; and was able to recall the flight intact. On the stall on approach I was reducing to Vapp speed too early and probably too much flaps. Also th LNAV problem was not so bad. I paid more attention to entering the Gross Weight figure. Thanks for the tip on using the middle mouse button on the TCAS button.Perhaps not so bad after all.Ken Fairbanks

The LNAV problem and I think 1 or 2 others have been fixed.According to Vic, there will be a SP available asap .For those who suffer from bad eyesight as I do - here is a modification to the 2d panel which might help a little (it's tough getting old !!!!)In the panel.cfg file1. change the view forward dir to 6.52. change the view forward zoom to 0.5 (my personal choice)3. then in window [00], which is the main panel, change the following after gauge 00 from 0,0, 1920,1080 to 0, -120, 2200, 1210Removes some of the unnecessary gauges on the co-pilot's side and enlarges the gauges somewhat (esp the digital engine gauges).Trevor

I tested the LNAV fix and the behavior is much improved; the aircraft handles as you would expect in that regard - I don't know what else will be fixed...DJ

Where did you get the LNAV fix ?Trevor

Since I furnished them with the test flight files, they asked me to test it for them - the files are not availalble publicly yet, but will be part of the patch release.DJ

HiI asked few times here about confirmation of VC cockpit problems with displaying flaps indicator.Nobody reply's.Anyway if problem persist you can try this until SP, backup original file first. FeelThere has released the Service Pack - re-download via your orginal purchase link. I haven't tested it yet, so I don't know what all it includes.DJ

Interested in this as I still fly the old 737pic albeit merged with the fiftynorth external model (in win7 64bit).I do have FSX/NGX, but found I was getting the dreaded 'uiautomationcore.dll' issues too frequently - even with the vista version in the root folder. And since I have a big ai collection, running fs9 ai in fsx pulls the frames on my i7 down to a third of what I get in fs9 (the slowest I've ever seen in my fs9 is 45fps e.g. QW757at a very busy EHAM).Generally I find VCs great for those 'ooh, look at the view' moments in the cruise, but too many payware a/c centre the VC view straight-down and so aligning back to straight ahead is either too much 'left a bit, right a bit' or scanning up from a view of the seat cushion - not what you want at 400ft in a crosswind, hurtling towards the concrete. If only they would move the window centre-post over to the right a bit more, since it looks like it would get in the way when lining-up from a right base to finals; and we don't 'really' need the FO PFD & ND displays - surely that's gonna gobble up a bit more horsepower than needed. There are still some classic fs9 destinations like Seattle and Portland, that haven't been 'done' for fsx yet.Chris.

There are 2 panel versions:- Wide (incl F.O. instruments and center post in middle)- Normal (without F.O. instruments and center post more right)Regarding framerates there is no difference between the 2 because the normal panel is an upscaled wide panel, causing the F.O. instruments to go off the screen and thus invisible (but still rendered)http://scandinavian-va.eu/forums/index.php?/gallery/image/631-ft-737-panel-update/

Hi ChrisYou can try my modifications in my above post. It removes some of the FO instruments, makes the panel bigger and clearer and moves the centre post more to the right. If you don't like the changes, simply reverse them again in the panel.cfg file.Trevor

Hi Trevor,Is there a specific reason why you created your own 'normal' panel (i.e. not wide) because it already is included?

My mods are for the wide screen panel.Try it and you'll see what I mean. You can always undo the changes.Trevor

Hi EgbertMy monitor is widescreenIt's rather odd (and surely wasteful) that the normal panel includes FO gauges, but doesn't show them!Hi Trevor,Awesome, Many thanks, It's on my shopping list for this weekend. I too find some panels a tad fuzzy these days - must be middle age.Regarding the Service Pack - Do folks know if that's just for the full new "Wilco 737 Evo" or does it apply to the "2d panel update for FS9 737pic" as well?

I have a problem with reverse thrust when looking at an external view the engine covers dont slide back.Anyone know how to fix this.

HiIs it necesary to uninstall base package or just install SP1 over base installation? Thanks
