I like the new 2D cockpit graphic, but WHY do they put you between the 2 front seats, and not on the captains seat?

Landing on the new 2D view is almost impossible because of the central panel.

 

Do the people who design these things actually try and fly them?

I'm a VC only FS9er and a happy operator of the original Feelthere 737. My question is, does this panel upgrade bring worthy improvements to a VC flyer like me? I know the VC model is untouched but any expansion/advancement in the system simulation? Thanks in advance.

In your panel.cfg file, make the following changes:
